Imho, pretty much since Assassin's Crred: Rogue (AC:Rogue) came out Ubi$oft started to rush game development and delive quite subpar games of the AC franchise / saga. And even AC: Rogue's overall small play time and somewhat uncompelling history is mainly redeemed by the game's rather well polished mechanics over the previous AC IV: Black Blag.
AC: Unity (AC:U) and this AC: Syndicate (AC:S) are pretty much having a glorified map filled with an items and side quests overflow to simply hide the fact that they do nothing to assist developing your main characters (either Arno or the Evie and Jacob siblings) and mostly stick to "fetch the stick" side quests and actitivites without those really helping the main characters development on the side of doing main memories/quests. And since I've played AC:U way more than my rather scarce AC:S experience, I still think that AC:U is amongst the worst of the series preceeded by Assassin's Creed: Liberation - HD (AC:L-HD), probably shortly followed by AC: Oddyssey and then by the still clunkiness of controlling hte main character upon AC III - Remaster (AC III-R).
And although I still haven't fiddled with AC: Valhalla (AC:V), from what I've researched its an improvement over the previous one, particularly if you choose to play a female Eivor.
From that point onwards, pretty much the only escaping title upon the quality department and bearable without Ubi$oft's constant in-game's predatory monetization practices to "pay to progress faster" on top of already having paid for a 3AAA quality game is AC: Origins (AC:O.
And yes, I still haven't even looked nor searched AC: Mirage in the slightest.
Imho, the real gems of this saga are the now rather decades old ones but that they were pretty much made until the Golden Era was about to end (which was around 2010) and that usually had the quality standard of most games of that day and age were made as if they were "labours of love".
