Report a translation problem
In theory the game should work with all gamepads which support xinput. The problem is that there are too many gamepads on the market so some might not work as intended. I'd recommend on getting the latest drivers from CSL or trying an X-Input Emulator.
If that doesn't help, maybe you are lucky with that specific one if you are using the old nwjs.
And on old nwjs(so NONE beta) the controller works not at all
Regarding the rest: Phew, that is more complicated. The only thing which is coming to my mind would be a tool which interprets the buttons manually.
I have used the 'SCP-DS Driver Package' and in the 'XInput Controller Tester' all works perfectly.
In the Windows Controller settings is circle mapped to button 14 and cross to button 15.
