Bone piles don't exist!

While I was traversing Maroon Valley, I began to realize that bone piles didn't exist anywhere. I checked every knook and cranny of the place, but I couldn't find a single one. I don't know why, but I'm pretty sure this is a bug.

This is especially frustrating because I need loot from the bone piles in order to do an important quest. Please help!

P.S. Don't tell me to "search [insert place here]," because I'm being serious when I say: "I've checked every knook and cranny." Thanks anyway!

Pretty sure you haven't though? Given that they're only located in one area, which you need to solve some terrain puzzles to access. Check your map for exits you haven't used yet, particularly in the southwest. If you've actually searched everywhere, there won't be any blank spaces on your map, but if you had been to those areas the bone piles would have been apparent. Have you found your way to the upper level of Maroon Valley yet?

Specifically, starting from Barren Land, there are some switch and wall puzzles you can get to on the upper cliffs. Once you've done them, you can access Overpass to the west on that upper level, and open up the jump pad near the Arcing Stones landmark for a shortcut. Cross over top of the big, arcing stone bridge to the west side, and then proceed south to River Cliff. In this area, and in Endless Pit to the southeast of it, you'll be tripping over bone piles.
