Controller. I tried with keyboard and mouse, but some puzzle were extremely hard with those and easier with a controller.

controller.

It's clearly a controller game, so, doesn't this answer itself?:bustersword:

Completely up to you. Some people swear by the controller, others prefer KB+M, both are viable ways to play. Personally I like the keyboard and mouse better because aiming with mouse is more comfortable to me.

Keyboard and mouse is the way to go for aiming, which becomes important in timed puzzles and when you start to encounter moving enemies you need to know the i-frames for. The downside is that there's a whole branch of special moves built around dashing you frankly won't be able to execute. However, considering you'll never have enough points to fill out more than three out of the four skill tree branches anyway, it's not really a loss.

Top down hack and slash with 360 degrees of movement, featuring precision platforming. So yes, clearly a controller game.

On the contrary, if the game in question featured, let's say a lot of cursor movement or precise aiming and camera movement, or maybe required you to use a ton of different shortcuts to play effectively, then that would clearly be a M&KB game.

It's really not that hard to tell. Anybody who has experience with different control methods could watch 30 seconds of gameplay for a game and then very accurately guess which control method would be best, and you'd be right almost every single time.

To me platforming on KB&M is easy enough whilst precise and quick aiming on controllers is just a PITA.
So if you happen to struggle with platforming, sure pick up the controller, but if you don't, why make yourself suffer if you just wanna chill and blast?

Also nothing is stopping anyone from switching on the fly between both methods in Crosscode as KB&M input is actually for once not gimped but fully supported, well realised and thereby just as good and valid as using a controller, which is how it should be on PC.
People should have the choice of using what feels right to them and not be forced into a control method or fixed layout sheme that doesn't suit or feels right to them.

You typed a bunch of things that I am pretty sure just about everybody here agrees on. We weren't talking about forcing anybody into using one or the other, it's just that some games are in theory more well suited for one or the other. Ex: Racing games with controllers (or racing wheels obviously), shooters with Mouse and Keyboard, and so on. That's what the OP was asking for clearly as well and he got a bunch of answers.

So yeah sure, point well made I suppose. Not sure though where that came from or what you were trying to address...?

I fixed my issue. The PS5 controller does indeed work with CrossCode as long as Steam is configuring the controller. I tried with DS4Windows and similiar programms but it did not work.
