A missed QoL opportunity?

Fun game, saw a streamer playing it a long time ago and immediately put it on my wishlist. Only recently got around to playing it finally (my backlog is pretty huge) and after blowing through the first two chapters, I figured I'd log out when the friend did and take a break.

Unfortunately, after the logout sequence, you immediately go into another cutscene and then log back in after to time-skip a day. I feel like...after logging out, that would have been a perfect time to have a save opportunity followed by a prompt to quit or continue playing right on a built-in milestone.
