Steam vs GOG version?
Just like in the title. The gog version is on discount currently, but I am a little hesitant since some indie games have mods and sometimes they are tied to steam workshops. Do I miss out if I buy the GOG version???

Why would you miss out on anything, they are selling the exact same game on both platforms. If anything buying games on GOG gives you access to independent executable files that enable you to install the game on any machine, anywhere, however many times you want, with no access to internet.

It's the closest you can get to truly owning a digital version of the game: even if GOG went under one day, as long as you have that installer downloaded and stored somewhere, you can play the game at any time.

the steam version doesn't have a workshop.

It is just the same on steam. You can just copy the game files from your steam games directory. https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/CrossCode

I don't think you understand. I wasn't just talking about this game. What you're talking about very rarely works, Cross Code is a rare exception. Meanwhile, ALL games on GOG (to my knowledge) have that capability. So no, it's not the same on Steam. Not even close.
