Do the characters stop being annoying?
I'm really trying my best to enjoy this game even when I get heavily overwhelmed at very silly weird things like enemies that don't auto aggro and towns that I can't navigate to save my life. Most of the time I'm mad that I have to run back and kill enough things to make it past cause if I can avoid a fight I always will. Also I really really don't enjoy basically any of the characters. Lea is cute and while a mute character usually means self insert she is definitely her own person. I cannot stand Emilie and I hope that if I remove her from my party I never see her again. Same with that other green haired guy I hated him too. Pretty much every character in this game annoys me and honestly I can't figure out why

I finished the first dungeon and I was really starting to enjoy the game aside from any cutscene or character speaking to me. For real seeing Emilie join back up and I can't take her out of the party might be the nail in the coffin for me. The gameplay is really good! And while I looked up the answer to like 5 of the puzzles they're well made (my opinion of sliding puzzles not included). I had wanted a journey like the tales of games but the cast in this one is just everything I don't want
On a side note, this might seem weird but I just can't put interest in the in universe lore about the MMO and the track and all that. If it's all fake lore made by the company that made the game then it doesn't really matter when compared to the real lore right? Same with how the stuff about fixing trees and helping people isn't real and doesn't actually help anyone cause they're all NPCs, so it makes sense to skip all the quest dialogue like how many people skip the dialogue in side quests in real MMOs

Not sure what you're going for here OP, are you looking for validation or something?

Okay, you don't seem to like a lot of things about the setting and the charactyers, that's fine, that's how it works. Some things aren't for everybody. So, why keep posting about all of it here like this? This game has overwhelmingly positive reviews so it's not likely people are going to agree with what you're saying in the first place...

If you are just annoyed by the general banter while your buddies accompany you, after certain point of the game you can dismiss them and just travel alone. But those characters are always part of the story and there are some crucial events when either you need to get them back into the party, or they will just come and meet you. You can't fully ditch them if you can't stand them.

...and that matters how? People are not allowed to say they don't like something universally acclaimed? Only clappy hands and positivity? Or repeat the same established praises and the "community-allowed" criticisms over and over? I adore CrossCode, I'm glad many people do too, but let people air their complaints FFS, this is a forum about a vidyagame. No one wins on getting stuck in an echo chamber where a slightest discontent marks you as a persona non grata.

Oh boy, you really need to read people's comments before you post something like this. Here's a quote from mine, where I literally acknowledge people have different tastes and won't like things that other do:

Next time you blow up on somebody please make sure you're not actually the one acting stupid and completely misrepresenting whoever you're replying to. Also, by your own point: just as OP is allowed to say that they don't like something most people like, I am just as much allowed to point out my observations too. So, what's the problem then? Am I not allowed to make my own observations?

Ah yes the infinite meta escalation of "if they are allowed to complain, I am allowed to complain about their complaining and then complaining about complaining about complaining". Congrats, you got the mic drop and I got owned, you cracked the reality. Yes I have no tolerance for intolerance, I will carry my hypocrite badge with pride. Also, one might say a totally contradictory thing in the next sentence, you know? Because yeah exactly after you acknowledged that it's fine not to like certain parts of the game, you followed up with "So, why keep posting about all of it here like this". So cut the manipulation of how you are a welcoming participant of a different opinion when you first say it's okay, only to follow up with ~but who asked~.

So yes, don't go around """questioning"""" why people BoThEr to post about things they dislike. It's irrelevant what the game's score or general reception is. OP wrote nothing but his impressions with the game, very verbose because maybe that's their style or it was just a flow of thoughts, and you open with "innocent" question if they are asking for validation, what a caring soul you are asking such genuine and empathetic, and totally not passive-aggressive questions. If you think mentioning once that's it's fine to dislike something and then both prefacing and following with stuff that is the very opposite, then maybe you ask yourself why even post that.

You can have your last word, I think I have nothing substantial to add.

>ost of the time I'm mad that I have to run back and kill enough things to make it past cause if I can avoid a fight I always will.

Kid plays a game with lots of enemies around to kill then goes out of his way to not kill them. We got a real winner here, folks. I'm sure he'll be here complaining about how hard things and how he can't afford anything after running away the whole game.

>Pretty much every character in this game annoys me and honestly I can't figure out why

You can't figure out why because the problem is probably with you. You're likely a jerk or somewhat antisocial. The characters in the game are just acting fun, goofy and friendly with a little sass for most of it. If you're repulsed by such simple pleasures then you're probably a jerk yourself. No need to be concerned but just be aware of it for future reference.

>but I just can't put interest in the in universe lore about the MMO and the track and all that.

Given that the game completely drops the ball on the universe lore unless you buy the DLC, this is for the best anyway. It's one of the few shortcomings of an otherwise great game.

---

>People are not allowed to say they don't like something universally acclaimed? Only clappy hands and positivity?

Seems you fall into the same antisocial jerk category of the OP, yes? Also interesting how you're presenting OP as a poor victim because his negative opinion was called out. Not the strongest rebuttal.

---

>Ah yes the infinite meta escalation of "if they are allowed to complain, I am allowed to complain about their complaining

Hey, you started the victim act, hotshot. You made your bed and now you get to lie in it. You got no right to complain about it now but you're sure gonna try, ain't ya?

>OP wrote nothing but his impressions with the game,

Yes, and those impressions were stupid, biased, and tainted in negativity which have little to do with the game itself. Just like most of your "impressions" as well. I see one depressed jerk defending another depressed jerk and neither opinion is work a damn, especially given the victim act we got the second they're questioned. You don't even care about his opinion...you just want to lash out at others for daring to be positive. Typical brat.

So how's that for impressions?
