All it matters mostly in the game is get better equipment, thats all. Grinding isnt necessary.
The start of a new area is always rough, but once you get gear that's on level for the area, your stats go up like 30% and things actually die when you hit them.
I always seemed to get overleveled because I got sucked into the S-rank disco parties, but the way that "grinding" in CrossCode is designed (Strawhat for Botanics, rank for rare item drops) is that it's all through high combat rank chains, which are so frantic that it doesn't feel grind-y, at least to me.
Yeah, but the quests isnt as hard as I thought it'd be. Just make sure your equipment is good and you'll be good to go. You'll also know when you dont need to grind if you are getting less and less exp. You get more exp only when you progress through the game. Side quests also works too.
Don't worry about it. Just try them anyway. The level differences aren't that big an issue and you always have healing. I was intimidated by the Levels in the missions too but, after playing, you realized you can handle them.
And, what's the worse that happens?...You die and then respawn at the start of the room? There's barely a penalty for death at all.
I also need to level up so I have good enough stats to not die to every enemy
Yup, leveling up can be important but not as much as getting equipment. Its still helpful but always remember to get better gear.
Yeah the game basically flat-out tells you this.
