Is Bergen a reference to Lhasa from Terranigma?

While playing the game I noticed that the developers were heavily influenced by Terranigma (e.g. the level up pose resembles the one of Ark from Terranigma) and I wonder if Bergen is a reference to Lhasa from Terranigma? Music definitely gives me Lhasa vibes, the city has monks and just like Lhasa it's a city where you have to climb up buildings.

The devs (I think Regiden it was) already confirmed that the level up pose is a reference to Terranigma
