I'm not keeping the closest eye on the news anymore.
I cannot look into the devs' heads (nor have I watched their streams, where they are not exactly secretive about their views and intentions) but I can imagine them enjoying the meta aspect of people discussing the quest with other people on different systems. I don't think they'd consider it a cheap gimmick.
All versions have all DLCs, but each version only tells the player about the system relevant one. You can find the locations of the quests of the other platforms by communicating with owners of the other platforms or by googling "crosscode PC exclusive quest" and checking the relevant reddit threads.
Absolutely agree with you. I understand the devs wanting to sell their game beyond a single platform, or two. But differentiating content like that does no good. What is a fan supposed to do, buy three consoles and three copies of the games? Makes no sense for BS that Sony does with Spiderman as an exclusive character in Avengers, and makes much less sense for an indie game to have.
Indies should be better than this, I agree. I don't want to think that indie developers aren't greedy like EA or Sony ONLY because they have a small budged and sell fewer copies and they can't.
No, you look at it like a mature adult, accept that not everyone gets to play everything, and move on with your life.
If you must, go watch it on YouTube. It's not the end of the world.
Besides, if you wait a year or two, the exclusivity deal will run out, it'll quietly come out on all platforms for free, and you can get it then.
