Person Keyboard Controls
I keep my confirm button locked to J. It's not out of the way but I save more casual buttons for more important actions. With J I just need to remember to press it each time when conversation pops up and there's no rushed element there.

Return I bind to Delete.

To enter the character menu I keep it binded to M and the shortcut menu I keep binded to N. The pause menu is binded to the esc key.

Help is binded to H.

Shortcut 1 and 2 I keep binded to Q and E respectively.

Shortcut 3 I keep binded to \ as I rarely use it, but if I need for skipping a scene it it's right above the enter key.

Shortcut 4 is kept by 2 at the R key.

Circle left and right are kept at the O and P keys respectively.

The movement keys are binded to both WASD and the arrow keys.

Meele is binded to Z.

Guard is binded to both X and Enter.

Dash is binded to C and Shirt.

Charging is binded to Space.

The different elemental modes are binded to the number keys 1-5, I keep Neutral Mode at 5 but generally just switch to it by double tapping one of the other modes.

Thanks, Is the mouse intended to be out of this when using any of the base actions?

The mouse will have to be used at least time to time regardless of your playstyle, but it shouldn't feel horrible to move and use the mouse at the same time.

Congrats, I guess?

Any particular reason why you're spamming though?

In a previous post we talked about me sharing my personal favorite input for keyboard controls but because CrossCode fans are so sensitive they shut the forum down before I coudl send them there. So pretty much because this fandom can't handle the idea of their favorite game having anyting wrong with it, does that answer your question?

...jesus, imagine being this offended over a game.

What it looks like you're saying is that you only use and move the mouse when you need to aim VRPs, and keep your hand on your arrow keys otherwise; using the doujin standard ZXC command list to do most of your control options.

It's not terrible, but it does mean your reactive capabilities are much reduced when you need to either aim or use the Quick Menu, since either way, you're stretching your hand in a combat situation. Guarding is absolutely awful, because the game aims toward the mouse; if you're off the mouse, you have to literally stop and grab the mouse to point at the enemy, which is usually a second too late to react.

First thing to be adressed, in multiple occasions, you said you "feel" that some things happening on screen or requiring a number of button press are frustrating and prevent the combat to be fun. Well that may definitely be true for you, no issue with that, but when answered that it's not the case for others, you want your opinion or your feelings to be taken as an objective truth, which it is not.

Second thing is, many of us played with a joypad, a device that has its own issues with the aim but also a great ergonomy in this instance of button presses. I understand it's not a thing for everyone but it worked perfectly for many. Devs provided tools to reduce hardships of combat and remap buttons, on that side I can hardly think of what more could be done to provide a custom experience without touching the core of the game that has been enjoyed by many as it is. I'm glad you're searching solutions, though I should maybe point out that any gaming experience requires adjustments and progression from the player. The degree varies a lot from game to game and the degree of CrossCode is, at heart, one the reason it has been enjoyed by a lot of players, so the best solutions was, I feel, to provide these customisation tools.
The timing of many abilities and moves are tight and there's indeed a lot to keep track of. It's something I enjoyed. Playing with a joypad felt like obvious to me, only thing that I did not find a solution for is the aim with joystick, that tends to glitch and get out of control in situations of really high precision (a few puzzles, far targets outside), outside of combat. For these instances I had to use the mouse, and it solved the issue, but it remained a missed design on the joystick sensitvity and stability.

Hope that helps with your approach of why controls may seem difficult for you for this game.

Me? Honestly I'm not offended by this game. There are certain games I AM offended by, but in those cases it usually boils down to a great game series that developers messed up to make it more popular. With this game I was just so incredibly bored by it I quit mid-way through the desert area. I could see the entire game was going to play out in the repetitive fashion and neither the story nor puzzles were interesting enough to keep me pushing through the end. So I just decided to quit early and play another game. Personally I'm more offended by the fact that it's fans are just completely unable to accept any flaw with it and their warped perception of how a debate works. Like majority vote means you're always right haha. As for offensiveness I'd say CrossCode has nothing for the player to be offended about, just plenty of times you could sit down and realize that it's not the best game in the universe.
