Mapping keys to mouse buttons?
Hello, loving the game so far, but I play with mouse + keyboard and having melee on the keyboard while I have to do the mouse-on-character thing for melee is a bit frustrating.

Any possibility we can remap keys to the mouse buttons, so I can have melee on M2? If this is already a feature I can't seem to make it work.

I know about that, it's just somewhat awkward as half the time I'm a bit off-center and fire a ranged attack instead by accident. Hence, I'd like to be able to directly map melee to mouse button two.

This is currently not an option and in any case we really recommend to keep the dodge/guard button on the mouse since precise dodging and guarding is more important than reliable melee attacks.

If you have additional mouse buttons, you might be able to use other software to map them to keyboard keys and that way you can configure the melee-keyboard-key to be used via additional mouse keys.

it would be too much trouble for me to do that just for one game, all i want is to bind melee to mouse4. i have it bound to space atm but i press it too slow (bc im tryna move) and i lost the duel with the other spheromancer at bergen trail because of it. it was 4-4 and i melee'd him hoping to pull off a combo but no he hit me back in the time between my strikes because i was trying to move toward him and melee at the same time, and my left hand having the keyboard and all isnt really meant for spamming, that's what mouse1 is for

This, basically. @aych I get there's a certain game design philosophy you want to be followed and I understand the reasoning, but I still feel the end-user feeling comfortable in their own skin so to speak should be a chief priority.

I agree, all controls should be remapable. This is important for 2 reasons. It allows a user to remap controls to suit their preferences, and it also makes the game more accessable to people with disabilities that may prevent them from using the defult control scheme. There's nothing wrong with making the developer intended control scheme the defult, but there's really no good reason to force it on the user.

But seriously, remapping mouse buttons is a neraly ubiquitous feature in PC games, and has been for well over a decade. As a user of a fairly unusual mouse myself, I find it pretty annoying when a game won't let me map things to mouse button 3.

Just quoting this post to highlight how stupid it is
