FPS drops constantly after playing perfectly fine for 27 hours
As the title says I've been able to play the game with perfect frames up until after Chapter 7 when you go to Basin Keep and accept / do all the quests there .

I had actually completely explored what parts of Gaia's Garden I could before even entering Basin Keep and then suddenly I'm getting frame drops like crazy, but the game isn't taking up more than the usual amounts of CPU or Memory.

I don't remember exactly when it started, just that it started after I left Basin Keep for the first time having accepted / done the quests there.

Anyone know if what I'm saying actually has anything to do with the lag or if it's possibly something unrelated?

I had a similar issue starting up at Basin Keep. I tested it a little, and restarting the game solved that, but then I left it open while in Basin Keep over night and got those massive drops again.

I can't be sure it's the same for you, but if it is, Outside of that one occurance, my Playthrough didn't produce this (or any) kind of lag. Only as long as Gaia's Garden/Basin Keep is relevant you'll have to restart the game after a few hours, which thankfully isn't a time-consuming process in Crosscode.

Nah, this lag exists in any area I go to now, and immediately after loading into the game. As soon as anything more taxing than just running around happens the lag starts.

I forgot to mention that I've tried rebooting/restarting and even the beta branch fix that other people have mentioned in other discussions to no avail

I've just recently bought this game and have had similar problems. No matter where I go I get frequent slowdown.
I have the recommended amount of RAM so that shouldn't be the issue. I also tried playing on an older nwjs like you said, but for me, it just made things worse. I have a 64-bit operating system and an Intel Core i7-8550U processor if that is relevant in any way.

Update:
So the other day I opened the game again, and I didn't have the slowdown I mentioned earlier. It does still slow down on occasion, but not nearly as much as it did. It appears to happen more when I leave the game on in the background for a while.

Well it fixed itself somehow after progressing a little bit, I have no idea how though since I've made no changes to my PC or the game.

And StarCap_ you say you just started the game so it's not specific to the part of the story I was in so idk

To me it all still sounds like a memory-leak straining the RAM. If you can, next time you get those slowdowns, It'd be nice if you could CTRL+ALT+DEL to open the Taskmanager and switch to the Processes-Tab, to see if Crosscode.exe is overflowing.

Then all I'd have is a shot in the Dark. It may not seem to make sense, because it doesn't, but you would be surprised how many games developed after Windows 7 run better on Compatibility Mode all the way down to Windows 95. Maybe you could try that?
