Nope; it's still possible to do. Devs said they didn't plan on fixing it because it's hard to do accidentally and useful for speedrunning.
It is already possible to make the trickjump if you got the timing that you dash after you hit the shield or make a hit... it is more easy to directly start a hit and dash afterwards to jump at a higher distance
