Love the game, but why the tumblr artstyle?

Like I get white people are physically unable to draw anime faces without making them look like western cartoons, but why not at least try?

I, and also a lot of others, are very fond of current artstyle.
If you don't like them, your best bet would be wishing the game gets popular like Stardew valley and getting some portrait mods

It's not that hard to draw a proper anime style. It didn't happen here by choice.

I like Anime and watch it personally, but in it's worst character quickly look exchangeable in terms of facial features (e.g. all noses look identical). So we decided to take aspects of Anime but mix it with others things as well (e.g. noses have more variety).

Of course that's not for everyone. That's pretty much impossible anyway.
We could have gone for a "perfect" Anime style but you can bet other people would complain about this as well.

I dont think the game looks bad. I just am not a huge fan of the tumblr/anime fusion on a personal level.

the quality is definitely there, and im enjoying the game
