ive always used keyboard and mouse because of the aiming controls. what it really comes down to is do you want better aiming control or better movement control. if i could hook up a wii nunchuck and a mouse be the perfect combo :steamhappy: now that i think about it steam controller might be interesting here.

When I played the EA I would prefer controler for a melee oriented character and KB + mouse for a ranged character.

Can confirm Steam Controller is wonderful for CrossCode -- it definitely took me a bit of time to get used to it, though, especially with respect to the amount of pressure needed for aiming.

I've wondered for so long why this hasn't become a standard control scheme for some PC games. Analog stick in left hand, mouse in right- it'd be great for so many action games.

i think largly it has to do with peripherals, name a peripheral that can achieve this that is still being made. the ones that have tried have failed (both finacley and conceptually.) both pc and console orientated.

here is an example of one for console but they ussualy don't last very long and are prohibitally expensive. also quality maybe a concern as well as this one looks discontinued.
https://www.amazon.com/Tactical-Assault-Commander-KeyPad-Gamepad-Controller/dp/B01L8QL2N8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1537491889&sr=8-2&keywords=Hori+PlayStation+4

the flaw that i read with this style of controller is ussualy that mouse emulates a joystick which means it doesn't really behave like a mouse on the console anyways. however i bet you could rig one of these up yourself its just matter of skill, time, and programs.

looks like someone did the legwork for me :steammocking: Though it still has problem of its joystick emulating wasd which isn't quite the same as analog. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=px8O6kcHA6M

There is things like https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Tartarus-Progammable-Detachable-Mecha-Membrane/dp/B07754PYFK (just randomly pulled one). Problem is, the thumb stick is only a 8 way directional pad and not a real joystick, but it might still be better than regular keyboard.

I typically just use a controller because omni-directional pressure sensetive joystick will always be better for movement than eight directional binary sensetive WASD, period end. On the rare cases that I find a particularly tricky shot (which does happen from time to time) I'll use the mouse to make that shot and go back to controller as I move on. It really is a matter of preference though; I've playes around with keyboard+mouse and it felt fine enough. I don't have any difficulties with either setup, so it just depends on the person.

I tried both but I like keyboard+M better for any game that has any type of "Aiming" or twinstick type of games
