Guard Sphere/Blade Sphere is far too strong.
These two abilities, paired with avenger and pin body are absolutely busted in every combat situation. Even the almighty Laser of Doom is unable to damage a player using these abilities, and it actually aided in keeping the special bar filled due to the high damage being blocked. I've decided to remove these abilities from my tree as I can literally block/return all damage for an indefinite period of time. As much as I love rigging as a tank, this is just too much. I need a challenge to enjoy combat.

These need to see a nerf of some kind. Either they need to stop blocking everything or break at some threshold.

Yeah, it probably does something with defense values. I was built for durability so by that point my def was well over 200. All gear and most of the circuit bonuses were taken to boost that stat. Heck, I thought I was going to script break on that unwinnable fight but taking a hit still killed me.

Yep, your guard gets more effective, the more damage you have. High-defense-builds will most likely reduce the damage to 0.

Part of the fun of a game is discovering exploits like this, thanks for ruining it by being a tattletell. Yeezus, games not fun because it's not a challenge, that was the challenge, finding the exploit. I hate you, in a Cartman from southpark kind of way. This is the dude who would tell the professor the test was too easy. (I'm being tongue in cheek here, don't take this comment seriously)

I mean, guard sphere+high defense is still broken OP and will have you taking zero damage from everything except level 90+ spiders. Even if they remove avenger from working off sphere guards (which they 100% should do), you still have enough time to just hit enemies to get back the single SP it costs. It just now doesn't kill the deathlaser and softlock the game.

Guard Sphere is considered to be a full body guard against all damage.

Which means it gets buffed by things like Solid Guard. I think that's what makes the difference between scratch damage and zero damage.

Not everyone wants the burden of balancing the game for themselves by deciding which abilities are OP. We would rather professionals with more time and resources do it for us. I also find it immersion-breaking to think "this is too good; I won't use it".

I'm not bothered by Guard Sphere though. It is cheap vs. Apollo, but an occasional OP use can feel clever not broken.
