WOW what a great game this is, and its still in development. I played 30 min of the demo and bought it instantly, and (dont tell anyone) i dont usually BUY games... However i dont see an easy way to import the save from the demo to the full version i just bought. Any tips? am i just dumb? let me know!

There are presets that you can load in the full version of the game that should include all of the playtime you’ve put in the demo version. Maybe a chest here or a quest there that you’ll have to redo but better than nothing. Even if it were possible, importing would bring a ton of bugs anyways as the demo is still on version 0.7.x (I think) while we’re already 0.9.8.

Get the presets now while you can as almost all of them will be taken away at 1.0.

@lachsen will you update the Steam/GoG/web demo versions to 1.0 as well after release? Or is there any need to?

I don't mind uploading/sharing the presets via dropbox, but jw if i only need to copy cc.save to preserve my saves or not.

Copying cc.save (and cc.save.backup) will transfer all your saves you've made for the game, unless you want to go through the trouble of making different .save files for every preset. Try pressing one of the Function keys (don't remember which one; it's one of the latter half) that brings up a console with copy-pastable save information specific to that instance you were playing. This can be saved on a text file and shared using your method.

Be warned though that some presets start mid-cutscene/etc, so it's not going to be 100% true to the dev preset if you go through this method.

Hey, just as an info: The presets will NOT be present in the release of the game. Those were meant mainly for beta-testing purposes and outlived said purpose once the game is released. So if you want to make use of them: Now is the best time.

We try to make saves on an older version run on the release version, but we cannot promise that it won't lead to problems. This is just impossible to do with the complexity the game has reached.

That's not a problem personally if they aren't compatible. If the presets aren't, chances are my own saves aren't and i'd have to restart(which is perfectly fine now that i have a sense of how to solve each puzzle at least lol). The process ends up different, with me uploading my own saves instead, but more or less preserves some of the progress lost for those that had theirs deleted.

If people still want to preserve preset files as much as possible after release, keeping all of the standard gear and appropriate levels, simple pastebin.com share should work fine. Only necessary if the current presets are not compatible with 1.0 or later ofc.

I'll upload the current presets on either sunday or monday. I'll try to see if i can keep cutscenes for the ones that start with one, but worst case is i'll just save it post-cutscene.

Bit sad to see presets go, because I'd like to think of them as the final backup plan in case saves go bad.
