How the hell do you kill the bull on fire?
phase 1 is easy enough. 2 is awkward. Where I'm stuck is the final phase where he's on his last chunk of health bar and has a fire shield all around him. I've tried shooting the bubbles at him with neutral balls, shooting them at him after freezing them into "hockey pucks" (for lack of a better term) and all I'm doing is getting slaughtered with his fire attacks as I struggle to work out the angles to bounce them off of as I cannot think of any other way to do it.

Any help will be appreciated. I like this game but it increasingly turning into a sodding interactive geometry quiz. Puzzles of that ilk are one thing, but forcing it into combat as the (seemingly) only way to win is just annoying.

Here's a Youtube video of that fight.
The first time they break the bull is by walking all the way down to have the bull turn there, and from there shoot the bubble first, then bouncing the ice down into the bull's back.
The second time they break the bull, it's by dashing out of one of the fire attacks and then meleeing the bubble into the bull's side (which works as long as you hit his hind half, rather than his front half).

I remember being stuck on this guy for a while. I don't quite remember what I ultimately did.

In that video, the first break during stage 3 (at 2:25) actually doesn't use the bubbles at all, it's just a charged ice shot. At no point in the video does Lea rely on ricochets for anything.

The key thing seems to be that you hit him with ice in the back, which honestly is not remotely clear from the visuals here (why is a 360-degree circle of floating fire weak in the back!?!). This seems like an example of "there's no reason to think you should use this puzzle element except the meta-game reason that the designer provided it".

If you don't want to try the "dash behind him before he reacts" thing, it looks to me like you could possibly ice-shot one of the bubbles mostly horizontally so that it bounces once off of a square pillar and then into the center. But those pillars are really in pretty useless positions overall.

Top search hit is this thread. This boss kind of sucks, The fire bursts home in and make dodging really irritating, and the third phase is tricky. The arena is slightly too large to see the edges, which makes it hard to line up bounces.

its like you have to solve this extra puzzle or boss will HEAL ALL HEALTH. i mean i am up for battle. leave the puzzle to the dungeon.
On his 3rd phase I was actually drawing circles around him, chipping just some little damage. But I did that with all my might and my entire patience until I killed it! :leaSmug:

I have a special level of hate for that boss. I fought it right after the difficulty levels were put in.

After every death the game would give the "turn the difficulty down?" message. I got super pissed about it and went ranting and raving about like a loon here after seeing that message about 20 or so times.

People were like "lol, that doesn't happen", and usually they'd be right. Turns out my save was just perfectly set to not update properly (it's only supposed to show up once) due to the boss fight and when my game was updated. But boy did that needle me something fierce.

Dude! I literally just fought him earlier today! I also was super struggling on phase 3, but the answer was more simple than I realized.

When he is surrounded by fire, you are NOT trying to hit him with the bubble ice blocks. All you are trying to do is bounce a charged cool shot into his rear end. So freeze the block behind him, make sure you shot is charged red, and bounce it into him. 3 or 4 hits and it moves to the next phase where he only has fire in the front. That's when you need to hit him with the ice sliders.

Hope it works out for you! I finally beat him and felt so much better.
