that Wet Works quest is driving me crazy

Why does parrying break guard? Dealing with enemy fire in multiple directions and not a single way to protect yourself and the machine is pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to me. Please remove the guard break when parrying, I beg you...

PS. If there's any way to complete this quest without looking like a total idiot, please comment right away.

I'm also having a bit of difficulty getting through even the 2nd wave. Gave up on it for the time being, just like the monk training quest in Bergen, Trial of Aspiration & another one called Steamy Booze. Edit: Tried Steamy Booze again and was able to finish it this time.

you are on a platform with a cannon on it, in the ocean. Charged shots direct the cannon where to fire. If 5 enemies get past your craft/platform or the craft is destroyed you fail the quest

The biggest trick to this quest is understanding the effect different elements have on the kind of shot the cannon fires. If you hit the cannon with heat, you'll get a burst shot that does AoE damage, whereas cold will give you a high-damage shot to a single target. You can use that to help manage the different clusters of enemies more strategically.

It's still a really hard quest even with that though, but the good news is you only have to fight through the two waves, so you're closer to the end than you may think.

awesome ty. I also equipped a weapon with the Focus bonus (quicker aim) which helped as well. For some reason I completely overlooked reading about how using Ice or Fire changes the cannon's fire type in the instructions. doh! Again thanks for the help!

I also overlooked the ice and fire changes. Thanks for the advice there, stuff ended up working out on the 2nd try (after new info) But yeah, focus helped as well

If it was in the "information" section, it's something most people don't access, since it's just repeating what you just got told.

If it's in his starting dialogue, that must be a new change, because I have video evidence he does not.

not gonna lie, I did this quest way later than you're supposed to, and:
A) i was overleveled for it
B) the homing bullet art for the shock element works wonders

This quest is driving me insane,I just tried doing it and it took me 10 tries to even get past the first wave,I guess I'll have to give up for now.

It wasn't immediately obvious to me that you're supposed to use your own attack in addition to the cannon. Not just the cannon.

So the other big thing to do is make sure you've upgraded your equipment and optimized your attack stat.

I know it's an old thread, but this quest is making me rage so hard, almost as much as the timed ice cave challenge. I have no idea how to deal with 7+ shielded enemies at once that are too spread out for the cannon to hit, even with the explosive shot. I've tried about ten times, and have only made it to wave 2 twice, and died immediately afterwards. I guess I just have to come back after gaining a bunch of levels. The level 36 suggestion is a joke.
