Marvel's Midnight Suns

Statistiche:
Who is your most/least useful character?
Most: Ghost Rider, though Hunter and Blade are definitely up there

Least: Nico, I'd throw Magik in here too but she seems to have some useful cards.

Iron man is the most consistent damage dealer imo. 2 "Leave it to me" and 2 "Quick Blasts" with Draw Iron man card is A good way to get his best cards without the random drawing. Use all 4 of those abilities with "Air Superiority", "Surgical Strike", or "Hellfire Beam" and you can dump all of your redraws into them for a ton of damage. The best part is that with all that card drawing there is a good chance you'll be able to do it all again on your next turn. Wolverine is a good tank for Iron man with the extra redraws and he can be supported with Nico, Hunter, or Strange :).

Most underwhelming for me was Spider-Man. I felt like he relied to much on environmental attacks. Those attacks are good but they run out faster than you would like them too. His bind is great but there are heroes that can just outright kill things and that's better. I imagine things like bind and stun are much more useful in the higher difficulties when everything is much harder to kill.

reading this discussion its clear that it is all depending on play style, while i agree with some statements, personally i think iron man is useless at least the way i play. i also thought spider-man was useless for a while but iv'e really deep dive to test him out and i now pick him before a lot of others. same thing goes with most chars i believe. But Magik and spidey is very environmental heavy characters play style wise and that's not for everyone.

In conclusion i think all characters are fairly balanced, but you need to make your team comp and adapt your play style to what characters and cards you pick. Just like any strategy game

After beating the game:
Most: Hunter (ofc), Cap, Nico, Marvel, Ghost Rider, Iron Man
Least: Scarlet Witch, Hulk, Spider Man, Strange, Blade

I think Scarlet Witch, while perfectly viable, is far and away the worst character. Lots of situational cards that require using moves and lots of set up for the same or worse payoff as other heroes. Hexbolt is so weak and slow to ramp that without quick it's meh and her card to increase her aura from small to slightly bigger is such a waste of a card. Detonate is situational. I am disappointed by her kit (legendary is good ofc). She is completed outclassed by Nico.

Blade was my most used and favorite character at the start of the game. I I barely use him at all now. His powers just don't get better like the majority of the characters, he's a very much "do one hit for some OK damage" kind of guy. When enemies at the start are weak, he's great. When late-game baddies have minimum 128+ health he's useless.

Scarlet Witch is difficult to bring on missions with Magik/Dr Strange/Nico all there doing magic much better.

just curios if uve seen all of blades cards? was thnking of brining him late game myself
Magik is my favorite. She's great. Nico is a close second. I'm really starting to get into Ghost Rider lately. Robbie got quite good once I figured him out.

I love doing environmental stuff, so Spidey is also pretty fun to bring along. Blade is great if you bring him to fight those soullinked lilim who attack bleeding targets. He essentially turns them into extra teammates.

Least used is probably Tony and Steven. Its bad enough I have to deal with them between missions. I'm having a hard time getting into Scarlet Witch. She sounds good on paper but haven't really got her working for me yet.

It's cool to see the different opinions. Some character get nutty cards later on that totally change their effectiveness. Or maybe it's just different playstyles and difficulties. I've found hyper-offense to be the way to go for effectiveness, score and fun.

IMO:
SSStylish: Ghost Rider
A: Nico, Strange
B: Cap, Blade, Magik
C: Captain Marvel
D: Wolverine, Spider-Man

Hunter is obviously pretty broken. Haven't used Iron Man enough to have an opinion, he seems like he could be extremely strong if you center your strategy around him, I'll use him in NG+. Nico is borderline S with the right team, Strange is more consistent and fits in every team but is slightly weaker IMO. Cap is amazing at his job but I find all-out offense to be the more effective strategy. I just unlocked Blade's Reaper ability and I'm expecting that to make a huge difference in his effectiveness, he might be A-tier. Similarly Magik has some crazy late-game abilities and will probably go up a tier or two.

Captain Marvel is obviously great in binary but she demands all the card plays to do so, I really don't think she's worth it vs Ghost Rider or Iron Man as a "build-around" character. But maybe she gets a late-game card that makes a difference. Not impressed with Wolverine as a tank, I prefer Cap in every single way. On high difficulties Wolverine easily gets killed before he can heal, and he doesn't help the team besides taunting while Cap is providing block and card draw. Spider-Man is like the anti Ghost Rider in that he makes every mission take longer. Taking out minions is pretty easy so specializing in it isn't very valuable. If I wanted bind I'd take Strange any day and get a Vulnerable out of it. Specializing in environmentals is pretty cool, but it's not enough to make me ever want Spider-man on my team.
after more playing i feel like marvel is the easiest to be good with since shes just a straight brawler type, i hate the character tho.

if i was able to play as magneto or sabretooth or someone that was my favirote character but they were one of the worst to play as, id be forced to play the game on hard mode
Isn't Nico entirely RNG? Surprised so many people like her
Her starter deck is, which means it's easy to not like her, not bring her on missions, not get cards as a result and then not reveal her better ones.

If u strategize around her . ie make her move last its better as she can wipe out whatvwe is left on board amd heal. Idk i like her but still need to see moee of her to say for sure. Also i love u

Stake is his best and most powerful (I don't have his legendary ability). It's great early game, but when your best move is to absorb 200 HP you're not gonna get picked very often.

I haven't used Blade much myself, but when I have used him and even just conceptually based on his cards he does seem pretty cool. Being able to burst bleeds is a pretty insane damage potential. Apply bleed mod on daywalker combined with his passive should, theoretically, mean a potential 8--likely 5--bleeds applied on a boss. Burst that and you're doing some pretty insane damage. If you used his base buff card to draw and apply bleeds then that's another 3 bleeds applied, which means a likely 8-11 bleeds. Use his card to explode that and it's unlikely anything, bosses included, will survive that. If you use Strike instead of daywalker you don't even spend any heroism but get one less attack. Cheap and heavy alpha strike.

Again, just theory as I don't use him much, but he's definitely got some insane single target potential.

Messaggio originale di Zebedee:
I'm level 22 and only just out of Act 1 D:

Least used is Ghost Rider so far. Just haven't clicked with him whatsoever yet. Captain America's deck is still all shades of suck (I'm at Ultimate II and it bites a bit not having decent tools there) but I think I'll get some use out of him once I've sorted that out.

Most used are probably Magik, Nico, and Dr.Spooky. Will be a very rare mission where one of them isn't involved. Magik by preference for the shens she can get up to.

Champion level 20, halfway through Act 3.

Wanda has replaced Ghost Rider as 'do I have to take them?' character. Ghost Rider has grown on me a lot more since that post, just I'm using him suboptimally because I build against his discard effects in every other deck.

Wanda on the other hand, goodness knows. Even her legendary spell is pure fail at U3. No, I ain't going to phoenix down your dumb ass, witch.

Magik remains queen, with much love for Nico too.
Nico OP evryone else is kinda meh.
I purposely avoid Nico, I'm just not a fan of the RNG and Roulette function of her cards. It's awesome they have a character like that, almost a nod to XCOM since they changed the combat system. Chance and RNG worked great in XCOM even when it pissed me off. But, Nico's cards are just too inconsistent and unreliable for my personal taste. However, when I'm forced to take her she does kick ass and I don't feel like I'm wasting a spot with her. Just prefer not to choose her when I don't have to.

I try to use everyone equally otherwise, but sometimes I almost feel like I'm hindering myself by not taking Iron Man. Every time I have him in a mission or pick him I just destroy the mission so hard. IDK if it's his deck, or if I just made accidental amazing synergies but he just feels so good when I have him. Also, occasionally Spider-man. He's a bit situational but an upgraded THWIP! on a boss with Opportunist is basically a free one-shot round.
