There was a "panzermeyer" who previously did mods to the original "Close Combat: Cross of Iron" & sounds like you are doing like wise for "Close Combat : Panthers in the Fog" ...
A fan of all things Close Combat even the Orginal by MS for Windows 95,
DuneWarrior
A vehicle speed mod for PITF/GtC is a must have IMO. - Now after I have made some edits and tested them I can't go back to stock speeds:D
Pathfinding is also dependent on map coding, wich I am not changing. But I am changing some of the movement costs related to terrain elements and that should make vehicles move around more easily. - At least I feel it helps:)
Buck and Petes FB page where they share progress on their mod production. These guys made Ortona and Scheldt mod for CC5, Rheinland for LSA and are now working on a Dieppe mod for GtC that looks to be great also converting Ortona to COI.

THE CC site : http://www.closecombatseries.net/CCS/
Matrix games forums not much activity nor are any mods posted here, but there is good info if you like to mod yourself : http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tt.asp?forumid=1198
CSO old CC site has a lot of mods and maps for DL: http://www.closecombat.org/csoforums/portal.php
Thanks ... did not think to look for mods for PitF & GtC...
I bought both PitF & GtC in Slitherine bundles at www.bundlestars.com ... really bought the bundles for other Slitherine games ... the Steam ratings for both PitF & GtC arre mixed & I have been putting off exploring them ... but not now with mods avaliable ... thanks again ...
2 Questions:
(1) How's does Close Combat Road To Baghdad play game wise?
(2) How do you get a copy of Close Combat Marines ? (I see mods on one of the sites)
Good to have a Close Combat advocate like you here on Steam,
DuneWarrior
Seems people on Steam are most unhappy about the pricing on these games...
question 1: RtB gameplayvise OK - very deadly weapons (Like CCMT), the AI can sting you sometimes - Its not always a walkover for the US - Yeah and the US are the only playable side.
The AI is not better than the other games its just the elements file gives enemy infantry really good concealment - this helps them out sometimes..
The game is bugged but playable.
2. If you look in DL section of CSO site the classic CC1-5 , RtB and CCmarines+RAF is up for download. Can you link to that CCMarines mod you have seen?
Yea, agree that price does turn some off especially ones that jump from one Action Mega Hit to another while WarGamers see long term investment through replayability & modding ...
I saw some good critiques of game play in PitF & GtC that worried me but you seem to be addressing those short comings.
On Steam, I also realized that critiques by non-WarGamers came from their perferred game playing genre experience / style of play ...
Good crtique of game play ... sounds a lot like some of the Close Combat Vietnam maps where NVA & Viet Cong were almost impossible to see let alone destroy in cover ... I had to give up on some maps unless I could draw enemy out or just avoid particular map areas by just going around ... but overall most times you had the real experience of sending your troops in to discover the emeny by being shot at ... so you sent in good defensive units with good spotters while having good strike units in the wings or behind ready to let loose ... then rinse & repeat ...
Btw, if you have not played "Afghanistan '11 or Vietnam ‘65" you are missing some of the best turn based WarGaming ... not RTS like CloeCombat ...
Yes ... I can see the "Game" link on Marines ... just below "Custom Battles" ... did not see it at first ... was able to download ... thanks ... Oh btw, the mod link goes to a page with no downloads ...
Due to the influence of the original X-Com, I started playing squad based games that lead to RPG's that lead to anime games ... but I have recently turned back to WarGames to satisfy my historical experience itch with replayability & change-ability ...
WarGames coming to Steam has been good to me,
DuneWarrior
There are thousands of maps available for this series. -Actually you can convert any map from any other Close Combat game to PIFT/GtC quite easily. Its also easy to cut them down in size if you want.
