[Support] Pointer is invisible when wireless mouse is disconected
Hi everybody,

First of all I would like to thank the developer for creating such a great program. That's what I was waiting for a long time for couch games.

It is working 100% when my mouse is plugged. But unfortunately there is a problem when I disconnect my wireless mouse, the pointer isn't showing up. I mean the pointer works, but it is invisible!

I have tried uninstalling it, checking the drivers from the Xbox 360 controller, but no clue. My controller is also wireless, dunno if it got incompatibility issues. I use my computer connected with HDMI port. Please give me light!

Thanks in advance,

SOLVED

Windows thinks that I don't have a mouse, so the pointer was not showing. Follow theses steps to keep showing the pointer even without a mouse.

  1. Go to 'Control Panel\Ease of Access\Ease of Access Center\Make the mouse easier to use'
  2. Check 'Turn on Mouse Keys'
  3. In 'Set up mouse keys'>'Other settings'> check 'Use mouse keys when NUM LOCK is' OFF
  4. Restart Windows without any mouse device

Brace yourselves, couch games are coming!

VitorGunArea: For me, it did not work, maybe because my mouse and keyboard are attached (Microsoft Wireless Desktop 800). Therefore keyboard and mouse are disconnected and the mouse pointer does not appear with your tip. But thanks a lot for your feedback

Interesting that I have Microsoft Wireless Desktop 2000(mice+keyboard). Maybe this software has some problem with Microsoft drivers. Is Mouse Keys starting with windows? check 'Use mouse keys when NUM LOCK is' ON stead of OFF. You are welcome!

this worked for me. thank you very much for the fix! Any way for this to be fixed in the future?

Glad that helped :) I don't think that the author is bothered or even if he knows about this issue. As you can see this thread is almost 2 years old.

yeah, hate that we have to use some sort of "accessibility" workaround. Even now it's a little buggy at times. If I don't shut down my machine properly or add/remove a real mouse after bootup...sometimes the mouse still disappears :-/ Appreciate you figuring out a workaround though.
