Spoiler warning please. :P Didn't read.
Was cool except for the platforming. :P
Equip Hiveblood.
Equip Hiveblood.
Equip Hiveblood.
Equip Hiveblood.
I'm just gonna spam this in every "White Palace 2 hard u guise!!" thread from now on.
*slaps forehead* Why didn't I think of that? Good idea!
Still, I didn't say it was hard, it just takes a lot of time for dumb reasons (run back from spawn, or with Hiveblood, wait for HP regen). That's what's annoying.
Thank you! Someone in here who actually plays video games. White palace was the perfect difficulty imo. After all these people hyping up the area so much I was damn disappointed. Took me around 30 minutes no joke, and I didn't even know about the skips. Not a single section stood out much and hiveblood lets any casual beat it.
I love the white palace, its like cotton alley lite. And for an optional section to a platforming game with double jumps, dashes and wall jumps I think its perfect! <3
Just use Deep focus+Grubsong and dream nail on those white bugs. Much faster life regeneration. You only loose 1/16 of soul each try but don't need to wait so much.
ehh... that's one of the easier parts. you do know you can stop after every saw in there, right? you dont have to rush through it in one go. only part in the middle where you have to pass 2 saws in 1 go, but its easy to time it right. i mean, i did that whole part on my second try.
This area has completely soured my opinion on the game because of it. When these things happened in the rest of the game, I could never be sure if it wasn't just my imagination. Here? Often times standing in the same spot, pressing the same button for the same length of time produced vastly different outcomes for me.
It's also an area that changes the approach to problem solving. During the rest of the game, problems could be solved by finding alternate routes, finding charms and coming up with new tactics. All these things flowed naturally and created a progression of their own, each player with their own micro narrative of how they had braved Hallownest.
White Palace tossed all of that out the window, it's now simply a matter of repetition. Throw enough tries at it, you'll reach the end sometime. Some enjoy that, other don't, yet others enjoy both.
Honestly, I had more trouble with Queen's Garden dropping platforms than White Palace...
P.S : Also equip hiveblood, makes it a lot easier.
Most of it is incredibly buggy cheesing of mechanics(honestly down striking spikes and saws to abuse a double jump is a silly mechanic even if it was intended). Many of the dashing areas were only solveable after you fell/charged into a spike and then after knowing it was there knew the proper route to take to avoid it next time.
A pox on your house, developer. Never darken my door with something that isn't easy ever again.
