They must have had ALOT of sex...
*tries to resist the urge to google "White lady Rule 34"*
Don't bother, there is very very little of it. Same with Radiance.
But yeah, waht the otehrs said. White Lady made all the vessels for the experiments with Void until the Hollow Knight was successfully made.
In the "Birthplace" in the abyss, you can see a cracked open "egg", and some root-like features on this egg. More like the roots that emerges from a seed, trying to find nutrient from what's inside. But in the Abyss, there is only void...
My guess is that the white lady relased many seed, and the Pale King has "planted" theses in the abyss.
Also, do you have any evidence suggesting the pale lady making masks? It's a thing to make suppositions or tales, it's another to not have any evidence supporting it ^^
That's just theory right now, but i do see some strange things.
1. We are creatures of the void, so why is the mask white?
2. Why does the Shade spawn when our mask breaks?
3. Why do we heal when we use Soul?
This lead me to the theory that the mask is a soul construct which keeps our identity intact, instead of being mixed/dissipated with the void. You can see it in the new godmaster ending as well, when the Knight's mask break and we become one with the void. This means that the Void must be formed first, then the mask is put over it to possibly act as a cage to contain anything within. This is probably to keep the void from going out of control, or to act as the cage for the Radiant when the time comes.
The siblings enemies we see in the abyss disappears when Radiant is destroyed in "No more dreams" ending, which means that they are already molded with a certain order: to destroy the Radiant. The only thing close to this is the kingsmold, which are abyss creatures put into white armor that keeps them following order and keeps their form.
Now i think that the White lady and Pale King are related in making the masks, because the masks are 1. White, 2. Soul constructs, which we see a bunch of white armor in the kings workshop. The mask maker seems unlikely, since his/her masks are too detailed compare to ours and i doubt 1 mask maker would make thousands of masks for the king.
Maybe it's theses "shells" that act a bit like a mould for the siblings? First the shell, then the void is put inside. The White lady give the seeds/eggs, the Pale King the shells/soul/moulds, and then "planted" it in the abyss, to grow.
