The Pale Queen also is capable of creating life, but hers is more organic and less mechanical. Like Hornet for instance. I'm fairly certain that the crib in the Pale Queen's room in the White Palace was for Hornet. I hope we get more backstory for Hornet in the DLC.
The only thing that we know about the Hornet DLC is that it debut one of the backer bosses(Assassin Bug), which appears to be a Void Construct, and wears similar armor to Wingsmoulds in the White Palace. It is also speculated to be a sequel to the events of Godmaster, though not confirmed.
I too would have loved it if the Abyss expansion stretch goal had been reached in the kickstarter. It would have probably taken a long time to come out though, considering that it sounds like exploration was a big part of it, meaning a lot of level design. Right now, TC can focus on the Hornet DLC. If they had reached the Abyss expansion goal, then they would have to be working on the Hornet DLC, the Zote DLC, and the Abyss DLC all at once, and it would be at least 2020 before they finished everything, probably longer. Infact I think I recall TC mentioning at some point that they would be working on the game for at least a decade if all of those goals had been reached, and considering that they started working on this game since at least 4 years ago, that estimate would be pretty accurate.
I really hope the Hornet dlc will be good. I'm happy with anything they put out, but I hope it's a sequel chock full of lore. Otherwise I might not buy it.
I bet cherry will just put out the abyss update eventually, even if its 2030.
With that said he certainly didn't do it alone. Born of Void, Root and Soul. The Pale Lady contributed as well but the nature of her existence perhaps made it less strenuous for her. So did she contribute soul? Or did she contribute root?
Also not digging the Mister Mushroom higher being theory. He really just feels like 4th wall breaking shenanigans.
Also with all the references made by the Godseeker to rain and thunder I paint them as some sort of worms. Not exactly higher beings probably closer to moths. The ritual combat they are so interested in is strange as well because I don't see them do anything related to combat.
If Godseekers are listed with extraordinary abilities then what about the Mask Maker? I always thought that the masks he created were used for vessels and grant some form of protection and or focus. Mask breaks= a shade that says ♥♥♥♥ everything.
Also no Vespa? She feels like Unn level to me.
Tell that to the abyssal alchemist. Cuz I agree
Anyways, vespa probably wasn't that powerful. She dies due to the plague (I know this because hornet trained under her, and she actively gets better later in the game, but vespa's corpse is in the background by the time you find it. There's no wounds or signs of damage, just death. Maybe old age, but more than likely plague) I don't think that the mask maker is super powerful, but I do beleive he's part of a bigger puzzle. He's the only being in the game that has those wierd blue eyes. The godseekers just have some telekinetic powers or telepathy, and are like the moths.
I saw an idea that going to the mask maker could get you alternative horns, and I thought that was cool. I don't think he was a huge part of making the vessels though, as deepnest wasn't the best of friends with the rest of hallownest, and he's already pretty well hidden.
"...Wyrms pull bugs into their thrall,
Till ages pass and kingdoms fall,
Caps and shells may fall to dust,
But Mr Mushroom readjusts..."
This dialogue, along with the first line of the Shroomal Elegy("We speak the path of the Master Herald, he who would signal an Age's end...") implies that the Master Herald has been there to witness the beginnings and ends of Hallownest.
I don't know why you won't even consider him to be a Higher Being.
No, he isn't. Mister Mushroom has those odd spiraling/swirling eyes too. Heck, at the end of the game it makes it a POINT to zoom in on his eyes to show this fact.
