Lifeblood Core Charm requirement amount

Okay I am hoping someone can help me, I know where to get the lifeblood core and I know how many Lifeblood masks you need to enter its 15. I currently have 8 which I believe is the most you can get but when I equip the lifeblood heart and joni's blessing I still have only 14.

I watched someone on youtube do the same thing with 8 masks and ta da they have the required 15... so am I not well or am I missing something... just cannot get to 15!

PS I tried with 14 but did not open. Props to whoever can help me!

The maximum masks is actually 9 iirc. That, paired with the nerf to Joni’s (used to increase health by 50% + 1 but they removed the + 1 which is probably why it worked for the guy on YouTube) makes that a bit harder. You’ll either need to get the last mask or find a nearby lifeblood coccoon and hope you don’t get hit (put a dream gate at the entrance and go get a coccoon from anywhere with all the lifeblood charms + fragile heart).

Which makes me think, do you have fragile heart on as well?

Edit: 8 + 2 (fragile) + 5 (from joni) + 2 (lifeblood heart) should get you to 17.

It turns out the in-game calculation is slightly wrong now for the # of lifeblood hearts you should get with Joni. You would expect 8+2 (fragile)*1.5 (Joni) = 15, but it actually gives you only 14 hearts (which doesn't meet the requirement). The combo you listed above only gives 16 hearts, in fact.

Joni's calculation probably only works on the _original_ masks that you have, so (8×1.5) + 2 (Fragile Heart) + 2 (Lifeblood Heart)?
