Birth Symbolism? (MAJOR SPOILERS!)
Has anyone else noticed this? I have seen several themes of birth and reproduction in the game. These themes can range from big to small. Could there be some significance?

Lets start with the small ones
1. The Gruz Mother: a bunch of gruz's explode out of her stomach in the first encounter. Hunters notes also have great significance, implying that birth is an almost uncommon thing. "Bizzarrely, this monster does not lay eggs but instead carries its young inside its fat stomach"
2. Aspid Mother: Not too interesting on it's own, but the hunters notes seem to call a-lot of attention to it (to be fair this may be because it's its only feature as a enemy)

Next, the larger (but not largest) cases of this
1. The Flukemarm: This entire boss dedicates itself to just birthing more and more spawn. The hunters notes draw a-lot of significance to it as well, as if birth is a major thing in Hallownest (which would make sense cuz bugs.......yknow......lay eggs) "The desire to breed, to leave behind a memory of ourselves in the shape of a child... it seems to be etched deep into the heart of every living creature. I too have felt the pull of that basic instinct."
2. Glowing Womb charm: This charm lets the knight (and I quote) "birth" hatchlings from itself at the cost of soul. Why would the knight have this ability? hm....

Finally, these are the biggest and most significant (if you ask me) uses of birth symbolism I've found.
1. The Nightmare Heart that Nightmare King Grimm comes out of, is oddly........vagina like. This could mean something huge, or it could mean absolutly nothing
2. When having equipped the fully upgraded Grimmchild charm while talking to white lady, she impies that she birthed the vessels, calling them her spawn. "...and irony, to use my spawn to grow it's own...."

So, what could this all mean? Is this just a red herring, or a meaningless theme? Or is it something bigger? I would love some feedback on this or some other symbols that others find.

I think the birth imagery is a very, VERY common trope in media that have an emphasis on fantasy-horror, as humans find many aspects of the birthing process unsettling and primal, and perversions on that same process have proven very effective in evoking emotional responses.

I don't think it's making a point with it, I think it's including it because it's a proven technique for building a disturbing fantasy world.

Ok ya. That makes sense. It just seems way more prominent in this game. I see where your coming from though

I'll concede with regards to behaviors and comments from characters like the hunter and the white lady, there is an emphasis on reproduction beyond that of other games of similar tone and genre. I viewed this as a realistic reaction to the extreme lonliness of the ruined world in which the characters inhabit, and also a way to emphasize the animalistic nature of many of them, despite their sentience in many cases.
