Hollow Knight
Banishing or Ritual
So i was collecting the 2nd to last flame in a deepnest hut when i encountered burm (the guy with the accordian) and he asked if i wanted to banish grimm. What is the reward for each?

I would recommend you the Ritual, just for the final boss!
There's more content to be had overall if you choose to perform the ritual instead of banishing, but each has its own exclusive rewards. To get all the achivements you'd have to do both paths on different save files though, I think.

I chose Banishment the first time because Grumm seems to be a slave to the troupe, and I oppose slavery wherever I can. It just seems like the right choice morally. If you want to know the reward for it, you get a musical charm that protects you from damage, and a new NPC named Nymm (who is implied to be Grumm except freed from the troupe) shows up in Dirtmouth and plays music for you. If Divine had one of your fragile charms in her possession, it's left on the ground where the tent was so you don't lose it permanently.
So for Ritual, you get an offensive charm. and for Banish, you get a defensive charm.
I assume Banish is easier?
Also which are the stats of the Banish Charm?
And there is some way to get it in the Ritual?
Like killing the Nightmare King?

I tested the Carefree Melody charm (the one you get after you choose banish). The charm have chance to block any damage even 2 mask damage or more but can't block enviroment damage like spike, acid or saw. When successfully block damage the knight will burst red flames around the knight and knock the knight back.

I kinda wish you could have both Grimmchild and Carefree Melody.
I guess I'll just get Grimmchild on normal mode, and Carefree Melody in steel soul.
Yeah Banishment is easier. You pretty much get the flame in the Distant Village from Brumm who tells you he's tired of all this crap and has a plan, then go to the place he tells you to meet up at and beat up on an inanimate object together.
Some body put together the lore for Grimm, I know that it not what your looking for, but I hope it clears up any questions between the two diffrent endings:

"here's Grimm's story.

Grimm is not a single being, but a line of descendants, each of whom will eventually inherit the Grimm Troupe. Near the end of each Grimm's life (probably), it will answer the call of a Scarlet Lantern and travel across time and space through dreams to get there (Brumm mentions travelling across time in a line from the song in his dreams, and a quote from Grimm in the journal mentions going through dreams).

After going there, Grimm will trust the one who lit the lantern with their child to gather flames. Eventually, this will culminate in the one who lit the lantern striking down Grimm and taking their flame for the child, who will eventually grow to be the new troupe leader and repeat the process (Brumm mentions the Troupe going in cycles again and again, and that the child's destiny was chosen as soon as it was born). Eventually, the new Grimm will rule the area the Ritual took place in (the White Lady mentions that the child will eventually be king if you bring it to her), and eventually answer a Lantern's call and begin the process again.

Parts of the Grimm Troupe's song are given in the Hunter's Journal and in Brumm's dreams. I don't remember Brumm's lines, but here are the ones in the Journal-

Shadows dream of endless fire / Flames devour and embers swoop / One will light the Nightmare Lantern / Call and serve in Grimm's dread Troupe
A spark of red lights darkest dream / Scarlet nightmares bright and wild / Visions dance and flames do speak/ Burn the father, feed the child
Dance and die and live forever / Silent voices shout and sing / Stand before the Troupe's dark heart / Burn away the Nightmare King

"Burn away the Nightmare King" fits perfectly with "Burn the father, feed the child" and the Grimmchild being Grimm's, well, child.

That's most of what's confirmed. There's a few intresting side things- the Grimmchild will attack the moth statues in the Resting grounds, implying that they're enemies (although the Seer has nothing special to say if you show her the Grimmchild), and then there's this quote from the Seer in the Nightmare King's journal entry.

"The expanse of dream in past was split,
One realm must now stay apart,
Darkest reaches, beating red,
Terror of sleep. The Nightmare's heart."

This realm is likely the one in Grimm's mind, due to the big beating heart triple mask thing in the Nightmare King's background, but that's just my thoughts."

Thank you. I just got to this point and did the banishment path and I was like "Whoah, wait....that's it?" This explained SO much. Kind of miffed I missed out on Unbreakable Strength though. I at least got the unbreakable health charm, that's legit. I get knocked around like a rag doll in this game xD

Actually the reason Grimmchild attacks statues is because of a glitch. It wasn't intended to do that.
Can you bring the troupe back after banishment?
