Two story theories: which one do you support?

So, playing the game, listening to the npcs, and reading through some lore threads, like "the big lore thread", this is what I understood about the story. There was once a great kingdom, Hallownest, but a scourge, coming from the decaying body of the wyrm, which in the dream world is called Radiance, treathened to destroy everything and everyone. So the king decided to trap the Radiance in the hollow Kinght, so that the infection could be contained. Plus he locked the prison of the hollow knight with the help of the three dreamers. But the infection started to leak, and everything started to turn mad. Our mission is to take the place of the hollow knight, being someone made of void like hin, or destroy the radiance, hence the infection.
Buuuuuuuuuut, someone thinks the actual story is: the king trapped the Radiance so that he could use its power to give a mind to each bug in his kingdom, and to make it eternal. The Radiance took it badly and fought back in its prison, so the infection started. Yet this story doesn't explain what the Wyrm was and what its death caused.
So, which do you think is the true story?

Radiance is neither a product of the Wyrm nor the source of the King's power.

What he said^. Radiance, if not predates Wyrm (aka KIng), then at least was one of the oldest existing Higher Beings at the time when King was still in the Wyrm form and did not give much care for small bugs

1.-The wyrm is the king, the radiance was around before the creation of hallownest

2.-The seals the dreamers leave are just a opening device for the egg: "for diversity, a seal" diversity of vessels of course
"the choice to reform was hers" thats what quirrel says when you are about to break monomons seal, so the reform happens when you break the seals, as i said they work as a key to the egg.

3.- the king didnt want the power of radiance their light powers are different, one gives mind, other takes it away

i only see unn referenced in greenpath and nowhere else is there more on this?

Did you not get the Shape of Unn charm? That's Unn. You're in his lake. He's a big slug. That's about it I guess.

I don't know why you bring up the Monomon stuff, not to mention get it wrong. Monomon is under a second layer of protection which Quirrel disables for you so you can dream nail her. Releasing the protection causes her body to reform in that chamber. The dreamers are not vessels. They could never work as vessels. They were chosen explicitly for having a strong will, not a lack thereof. Their seal on the hollow knight is not the same as the hollow knight's seal on Radiance, hence the diversity.

Unn's actually female, just FYI. She's a god that came out of the dream world with her followers and shaped Greenpath. Read the signs. She has an idol in the lakeside temple even.

Well, I don't remember any signs that mention if Unn's female, tho. Subtly or Bluntly.

It's just "Once a sentient being dreams of leaves and grass. So revealed the mind of Unn," something like that.

You have to dream nail the nonrespawning enemy at the Lake of Unn. It says something like "she calls across the lake" or something in reference to Unn.

Or I just read a list of all the dream nail lines that a dataminer dug up and posted to reddit. Fun Fact: A removed piece of dream nail text for the Hollow Knight actually is "Father" implying the Hollow Knight thought of the King as its father and further reinforcing the familial imagery of the major characters. It's also the only piece of dream nail text for it that wasn't actually a thought of Radiance instead.

Thoughts of radiance? How so? The king caused the bugs of hallownest to think in the first place, the radiance nullifies all conciousness. Are you sure you arent mixing things up?

No, I'm not mixing anything up. They are very clearly the thoughts of Radiance. In fact there's text for Radiance too that's actually in game still (just checked, you can hit her during the phase with the platforms if you do it from the middle level when she's hovering over the lowest).

Hollow Knight: "Kill", "Shall blaze free", "This Vessel, broken...fails", "Dawn...Shall break", "No mind, the usurper...Only strength", "Kill the usurper...Our light it would suffocate", "Father?"

Radiance: "ANCIENT ENEMY", "I DO NOT FEAR YOU", "LET ME BE FREE", "I WILL NOT BE FORGOTTEN", "DAWN WILL BREAK", "THE LIGHT CANNOT BE CONSUMED"

Radiance makes the consciousness of the other bugs a bestial hivemind, but it's never established that she doesn't think herself. Or to be more direct, it is apparently established by dream nailing her that she thinks just fine. And presumably the Hollow Knight's thoughts are the thoughts of Radiance because it's her host.
