Hollow Knight

Hollow Knight

Why is Herrah the Beast the only Dreamer without a guardian boss?
Considering the achievements linked to them, I was slightly disappointed that the Dreamers are not bosses. However, at least two out of the three have guardians that basically act as the boss battle in the Dreamers' stead:

-Monomon the Teacher has Uumuu, who guards her Archive
-Lurien the Watcher has his Watcher Knights

Why is Herrah left out? It's a little disappointing that the one who seems like the most badass Dreamer doesn't even have anything close to a boss battle.

You get a bit more info on Hornet if you win vs her in Kingdom's Edge and get the King's Brand (or maybe the shade cloak?) beforehand, but I think that's the closest she has to a guardian boss.
I didn't know you could get the King's Brand or the Shade Cloak without fighting Hornet first. I thought she was guarding the way to the King's Brand which in turn is required to get the Shade Cloak.

Ah, my bad, worded it weirdly. You need to fight her to get the shade cloak, but I don't know if the Herrah lore trigger is the cloak or the brand.
Deepnest is pretty good "defense" on its own, like, no sane bug ever go there. Even Quirrel did not go past the Springs and Cloth barely made to the tram area.

I've never thought about it that way. But aren't they sleeping in their own homes anyway? If so, Herrah probably doesn't need extra Protection because, well, Herrah the BEAST, eh?

Makes it all the more disappointing she has no boss battle. I want to know how Herrah the BEAST got her nickname =D
I was pretty disappointed that there was no chance to fight the dreamers either. It feels like missing piece of the lore that could have been really interesting. At least let them have a dream battle sequence or something. Sounds like a nice idea for a DLC later on.
I'm not sure a librarian and a voyeur would make for formidable foes in combat. I don't mind what's in the game itself, it felt that the little maze was the "boss fight" for Herrah. Also, Deepnest givesme the willies, so I am glad that there are less chances of death at late points so as to not have to trudge through the whole thing again.

i think its better that the dreamers were not boss fights. i think Team Cherry wanted to prove a point that the dreamers are not monsters or villains, they're heroes for sacrificing themselves to protect Hallownest. But then again, I respect oyur opinion.
Sorry for reviving, but i think its important.
I believe Hornet should be a defender of Herrah, as she is her daughter. But Hornet decided to not fight The Knight. There is additional lore candy here, when hornet comes to pay respects to her mother after The Knight dealed with her; she says she decided to not interrupt the mission of The Knight, but its still sad for her that her mother si no more
