Bench near mantis lords?

So I want to take on the matis lords only when I die I have to truck it all the way back from queen's station. The map says there is a bench right by Mantis Lords. The map doesn't seem to show my position on it so not sure if I'm in the right place here but when I go to where I think the bench is there's a mantis that flips a switch and shuts a door, locking me out of the room that I'm guessing the map is showing it in.

It also doesn't show any other way in to that room. Is there any way I can get in there? Want to use that bench so I don't have to run so far every time I screw up with Mantis Lords.

Unlocks after you beat 'em. It's more for the difficult-ish zone right AFTER the boss fight.

That's just straight up mean..

There is a bench off in the bottom-right corner of the zone.

This one is better imo. You can just run past / jump over the 2 enemies in your way and drop into the hole to rematch.

Thanks for that. I went to that bench. Made getting back to the Mantis Lords so much easier. I managed to beat them in the end. Another quick question though. Why don't the maps show my position on them? Is that a bug or is there something specific I need to do?

I've seen the map show my position before but once and once only.

The trinket shop in dirtmouth sells the compass charm that shows your position on the map.

After you beat the mantis lords, the mantis race will respect you, and won't attack unless oyu hit them. so the mean one doesnt hit the switch near that bench ( and there is tons of goodies in that area after you beat the lords, recommend going back to it asap!)

i agree, still find it annoying and unnecessary to have two benches in that area, why not only have the bench near the boss so people can reach the boss quicker after dying, there's no reason at all to make two benches the way they did.
just lock a room after the bench with some stuff in it instead.
