Any reason to toss away Geo?

Got to Ancient Basin, accidentaly lost all money to fountain, saying "You should give away everything to kingdom". Is there any point to do that, or did I just lost my geo for nothing?

BTW, it is impossible to spend over 3K. I was very leary about this because I first found the fountain with 4K, and of course the text is always "give all your money" but it only takes 3K.

Spend 3000. Its a mask fragment if i remember correctly. Wasnt worth it IMO.

If you're going for 100% completion, it's worth it because you need it. Also, if you explore maps and so on, 3000 geo shouldn't be that much. You get tons of geo for the journals/seals and should find tons of geo just by exploring.

A mask fragment (or mask shard) does not equal a soul vessel fragment. Collecting 4 mask fragments nets you one extra HP while 3 soul vessel fragments gives you extra soul capacity for +1 spell/heal.

The fountain gives you a soul vessel fragment for 3000 geo cumulative, NOT a mask shard as several people claimed above.

I wish I had more stuff to spend my geo on. Currently sitting at over 10k. The game just tosses you money after the beginning areas so don't worry about losing 2-3k geo

It’s possible to drop cumulatively up to 3000 geo. If you start by dropping under 3000 geo you get a new start menu background. After dropping the rest you get a Vessel Fragment (1/3 for a full increase of Soul Power)
