oh thank goodness, Markoth was such a pain.
i actually found P1 the hardest to beat so far, lmao. the brothers were a bit of a learning curve, took me a while to get past them.
My personal amount of deaths (not on my steam account) is 1 on p1, 0 on p2, like 30-50 for p3, probably 10-20 for p4, and 6 for p5.
One important thing when fighting bosses (or regular enemies) is that the goal isn't to defeat your foe, it's to outlive them.
Finding spots to heal and learning how to dodge your foes is very important,
because if you can become good enough at dodging and healing against a boss, good enough to heal all the damage you fail to dodge, you become effectively invincible, since the boss can't really kill you anymore.
This is especially important in the pantheons, which are closer to a test of endurance than the rest of the game.
For specific bosses :
-No Eyes and Markoth are both very easy to heal against, so you just need to be able to get enough soul to do so.
-You can use the Dream Nail on Failed Champion's armor to get soul, which can be very useful when you need to heal. If you're doing it during a stagger that isn't the last one, keep in mind that Failed Champion will eventually get up if you don't hit him or his armor with actual attacks for long enough. (Hitting either resets the timer for him getting up).
Out of curiosity, what use do you see in it? I use the knockback as a useful part of my dodges for a bunch of attacks, a habit that has made my attempts at using it (outside of one specific boss fight) failures.
i love the HK boss fight but he's a bit easy, so a tougher version should be fun! i'm hoping he's as fun as NKG.
i can respect that build. i like Sharp Shadow for general usage because you can get some hits in almost risk-free, makes it really easy to finish off Sly for example. the only reason i don't use Nailmaster's Glory is i'm not great at the Nail Arts
P1 must've taken me something like 20 tries, 1 for P2 i think, and about 5 for P3 - though i suffered many more deaths training on individual bosses.
yeah, this is generally my approach to most bosses (except for Sly, whom i actually found easier to back into a corner and then hammer nonstop).
thanks, these are really great tips!
-Unbreakable Strength is incredible with the Pure Nail.
-Shaman Stone helped me smash through the rest of the Pantheon, but I didn’t use spells during PV.
-Quick Focus is super OP against PV. Instead of the usual one heal during the stuns and massive AOE attack; you can get two in. Super useful since he’s a double damage boss.
-Sharp Shadow is super useful against about every boss in the Pantheon especially Enraged Guardian, Lost Kin, Hornet, and PV.
Now it’s times for tips with each boss
-Enraged Guardian: this one is a piece of cake. Simply charge, get a hit it, dash hit him again, and rinse and repeat. I’ve beat Enraged on Radiant using this method.
-Lost Kin: not too bad if you know how to fight him. Defenders crest makes this boss way easier because you don’t have to deal with the little cloud creatures.
-No Eyes: No Eyes is a pain. I recommend playing this fight slow and safe and wait for her to come closer to you to attack.
-Traitor Lord: this fight is easy if you know what each stance means. Sharp Shadow is super useful in this fight, but when he does the attack where he hits the ground and large wall come towards you, back up then dash. If you dash while close, you’ll dash into him and take damage.
-White Defender: this boss was rough for me at first. There’s not a lot of tips I can give for this fight besides practicing in the Hall of Gods, and healing after he slams into the ground after he rolled into a ball. There’s enough time to get two heals in with Quick Focus (three if you’re lucky.
-Bench break: if you didn’t have Quick Focus on or Sharp shadow for the first half; equip it now! They’ll help a lot. If you had defenders crest on during the first half for Lost Kin; take it off because it’s useless for the rest of the Pantheon.
-Failed Champion: this one is really easy. Simply be ready since he can do anything at any time. I recommend if you are full health when the magma balls are falling, hit them back at him. Make sure to Dreamnail him as much as you can once he’s dead just like the False Knight.
-Markoth: …………….why. The first phase isn’t too bad. The spikes are easy to avoid and the shield isn’t an issue, but the second phase is a different story. The spikes are constantly coming at you and they feel even faster. There’s also two dreamshields now (……) and using your nail feels impossible. I recommend just using your nail during the first phase and then use abyss Shriek as much as you can during the second phase. Shaman Stone makes this terror end quite a bit faster.
-Watcher Knights: super easy once you know what you’re doing. I normally use this fight to heal by getting to the other side of the arena. I usually can get two to three heals in when I do that so I’ll do it quite a few times. Quick Slash makes this fight even easier, but don’t sacrifice Quick Focus for this fight!
-Soul Tyrant: easy fight. The only time I take damage is when I underestimate the second phase. Dash when he comes down and watch out for when he fakes the dives. Be careful.
-Non combat room: this is the time to heal and take a deep breath. Get ready for the Main Event.
-Pure Vessel: this is the hardest fight in the Pantheon and one of the hardest boss fights I’ve ever fought. The first move I want to talk about is his dash. This one he puts his knee to the ground; points his nail forward and dashes. I recommend either dashing through it or jumping over him. The next attack he puts his nail behind him and does a three slash attack. I recommend jumping and parrying the attack from above or with Sharp Shadow you can dash through it. The next attack is his pillar attack. He’ll appear above you and quickly attacks. I recommend dashing away. Once she hits the ground spikes will appear in the ground and stick up into the air. The bottom is thicker than the top so jump. If you are close enough to hit him; make sure to know hit yourself into the spikes. The next attack lines will appear in a wide range in front of him and he’ll throw spikes. Make sure you aren’t standing or jumping in those lines otherwise you’ll watch two masks disappear. The next attack is his explosion attack. A massive silhouette will appear around him then they’ll explode and do double damage. After that happens; smaller white explosions will appear around the arena and do double damage. If you aren’t standing in one; heal. You can heal two masks here with Quick Focus. The last attack in his arsenal is black tentacles will appear in front of him. You can’t dash through it. Instead you must jump pogo dash then pogo on PV. The last tip I have is when he is stunned; heal instead of attacking. You’ll have enough time to get one heal in; unless you have Quick Focus on because then you can get two which is a whole extra hit! Use Quick Focus!
These tips should greatly help you beat P4. Good Luck!
i have an update: after a lot of gitting gud at the individual bosses i managed to get far enough to unlock the Pure Vessel with full health (he annihilated me instantly lol). thanks for your help everyone!! i'm going to enjoy training on him.
