Hollow Knight Ost
Is Hollow Knight Ost worth it?
Someone have a comparison video with the in-game sound track versus the ost?

If you buy the Hollow Knight soundtracks on Steam, they include both MP3 and FLAC (lossless) files.

The whole Hollow Knight and Gods & Nightmares soundtracks are also on Spotify for free and without nagging (except ads) in higher than youtube or bandcamp (free) quality (160 kb/s in the Spotify Desktop app as opposed to 128 kb/s for free bandcamp and youtube):

Hollow Knight: https://open.spotify.com/album/4XgGOMRY7H4hl6OQi5wb2Z?si=gtcefL3XQbmX6TumMVrFuA

Hollow Knight: Gods & Nightmares: https://open.spotify.com/album/3qbcMEDN44a6vdxm12FkSM?si=38_pwgEwSWmYous_zvEbfQ

As always in Official Soundtracks (OST) not all files are included (for example no The Abyss ambience). You can extract the whole soundtracks from the Unity game files using AssetStudio for example.

I bought both albums when they were on sale (25th Nov last year) and I listened to then around 20 times since then. Ok, I admit that some of boss themes are a bit irritating as a background music so usually I just skip them, but all in all I am happy for buying them for around €5.

Not really, but if you wanna support team cherry then go for it! You can hear all the songs on youtube, but it's up to you. I bought the celeste soundtrack and i regret it, doesn't have all the songs and it costs too much when i can just as easily listen to it on yt

But if i get the Ost, it will have big changes in the sound track that was already in-game?

You can listen to the entire soundtrack on Bandcamp for free several times before it starts nagging you about buying it. Should be easy to decide based on that:

https://christopherlarkin.bandcamp.com/album/hidden-dreams

Also as far as I'm aware the Steam soundtrack is MP3 only, while Bandcamp offers FLAC downloads, if you care about that sort of thing. <-- Edit: as Reznor pointed out below, this is probably false. Steam might also include FLAC.

I mean, when i buy the Ost it will be added to the gameplay, no?
Oh, come on! The game itself already includes the music during gameplay 🙂 The OST is just soundtrack from the game in MP3 and FLAC files that you can listen to when not playing the game for example.

Interesting, so Steam also had both MP3 and FLAC formats all along! The soundtrack is really great too, just going by hearing it in the game. I might at least get the Original OST, myself.

(Deleted my earlier post just in case, to avoid any chance of misleading anyone.)
Note, however, that FLAC format applies to Hollow Knight soundtracks on Steam. The rest of the games' soundtracks on Steam may or may not have FLAC format included (depends on the developers/publishers of those games). There is a Steam group that checks which soundtracks include FLAC files.

Ah, so it varies game by game and Hollow Knight OST has FLAC included but other games wouldn't necessarily. No wonder the confusion then.

I suggest using Spotify or something, but if you don't do that, it's absolutely worth it. Sorry if I missunderstood the question.
