Just got into first area where u go down and buy map i dont bave any skills unlocked either

Explore, generally. Maybe rebind controls. Id add the game gets good after a while, dont get demotivated.

If you have a map (and the quill) explore every path you see in the map. Buy the pin markers and mark the places that clearly continue but you can't access because you can't reach them yet. After a while, you should find a couple bosses.
You can either jump or hit things with your nail. Hit everything new you find with your nail, jus to see what happens. And pay attention to breakable walls, they are easy to miss but later you'll recognise them easily.

Go back to the grey area and you'll find a new area you can find with your dash.
