I was replaying the game, and i wonder, why the super specific 86 geo for leg eater shop?

oh, i knew that there is no whole language and that your comment was an "is there a lore reason?" joke. I just like trying to theoretically figure things out as much as possible. i guess i just always sound too serious in text form.

however, I am pretty sure that he does say "Geo" and means the currency because millibelle says "Geo, Kallala" or something like that and i find it is unlikely that both vendors would say Geo and it not mean Geo yk.

I too like to hypothetically find explainations, But i think this one isnt possible. For example, someone like leg eater, whose basically entire personality is "give me geo" is never says so.

Furthermore, sly himself says geo in his dialogues, and his voice doesnt say geo.

to me the audio that plays is probably not the same thing the character says in the dialogue (is usually way shorter than what the character says) this is very common in video games where they want some voice acting but cant afford full voice acting. like you might hear a character say "Well hello again" or something, but the dialogue might be "Oh, you're back already? I've got a few new quests lined up for you."
so i still think "geo" means geo

the repetitiveness of "anonano nano naaa" makes me think it might be something similar to "gimme gimme"

William pellen, one of the two members of team cherry voices sly. Im pretty sure ari gibson shared the money from the kickstarter with pellen, so i doubt he paid himself to voice act.
Also, not every language has phrases of the same length, so an hypothetic language could have sentences simplified to a few words.
Also, cornifer speaks danish, i doubt its just a coincidence the game's hypothetical language contains a few voicelines identical to danish but with different meaning, and it just happens to be voiced by the only danish guy.

yes, but i also doubt he had the time/skill to do complete voice acting himself, especially in a language that doesn't exist (also, yk, the game just isn't fully voice acted, only the first line of dialogue gets a voiceline) also, after a bit of thought, the tactic of only using a small voiceline for alot of dialogue is also used by many big companies that can afford it, so i think they may also do that if it fits the vibe or makes the game flow better. I just don't see why they would have 2 different characters who both have a lot to do with money clearly say "geo" and it not refer to geo.

I do agree that it is technically possible for a language to be efficient enough to say that entire first line with only a couple words. it just seems a little unlikely to me.

of course, everything is hypothetical and we can't be sure about anything really, so im not saying its certain that when you hear "Geo" they mean the currency, im just explaining why i choose to believe so.

im pretty sure the danish thing is just a little Easter egg for anyone who speaks danish.

And the character obsessed with geo doesnt mention it?
There are about 6 characters who mention geo, two of them say geo, and the most obsessed one never says geo. To me it sounds like randomness, at most, team cherry chose 2 characters they thought would say and made them say geo. The rest is gibberish.
