What would the Abyss expansion have if it was released?
We know it would've had the Knight go underneath the Void Lake, but what else might have been in it?
I'll start, with a concept boss:
Lighthouse Keeper
At the top of the lighthouse, which is it's own sub-area. The lighthouse keeper will start as an NPC, who will be silent when interacted with. If the lever is hit, a void tentacle will appear out of the keeper's body. Void will start to drip from it's eyes, and the fight will start.
You guys can make up attacks and stuff for the boss, or other parts if you want.

I would say:
— a local area boss is a standard, so this would probably be there.
— Quite possibly, there would be more lore and explanations for the story and Pale King, Void, Vessels, Shades.
— Some actual unique area enemies besides shades and crawlers.
— Cornifer and a map for this area.
— Another Stag Station.
— Some collectibles, maybe new charms and grubs
— Additional Ghost Warrior
— Geo Rocks
— Secret areas behind breakable walls

I would say that Cornifer wouldn't have access to the area, and because the Pale King sealed up the Abyss, he would have the literal foresight to not put a stag station there.
I was thinking of a special Void Map, which could be used under the Void Lake.
The rest of them is pretty good.

This shows how unfamiliar/confused I am about HK lore, because I totally haven't thought of that 😅 Lore-acceptable substitutes for the maps and Stations that are not Cornifer and Stags but serve a similar function would be nice though. Like a hidden secret Pale King-exclusive passage or elevator going directly up to Palace Grounds, that we discover at some point... because kings love secret passages. That would solve the Stag Station problem, as there is one just next to the Palace Grounds.

I was thinking more that you'd get an item that allows you to swim in void, but that does sound like a good idea.

I think it would be really fun if you could take the void map to Cornifer to unlock an extra interaction between him and his wife (the shopkeeper), since all he does is sleep after you buy his maps.

Learning the origins of the Shade Lord. Perhaps the "Abyss Creature" will be an infinite LIfeblood-giving NPC for SL's origin fight.
