Charms depend on your play style and strategy. In my case, I like balanced nail and spells (going for max possible damage), so I do damage boosting charms like Strength and Shaman Stone, and something to draw in or retain more Soul (Soul Eater and Spell Twister). Quick Slash can also be very useful with most bosses (both for more damage and more soul (but don't get too greedy).
If you can't get by without healing a lot, then you might want to save notches for Quick Focus, maybe Deep Focus (but personally I think it's too expensive). Grubsong is also useful if you get hit a lot, for more soul.
Also, make sure of course you can beat the bosses you are having trouble on Ascended difficulty in Hall of Gods, if you don't want to keep repeating all the easier bosses before it.
They may be on an old file made back when Quickslash used to cost 2 notches, since that change did not retroactively apply to existing saves iirc
Grubsong + Unbreakable Strenght + Quick Slash + Long Nail + Stalwart Shell
With it you can tank most of the bosses by stick your face into their butts and stab them till they die without thinking to much about it, which is good, becouse most of those bosses are boring as dang and you need to keep your cool till the last bosses.
For the last two bosses:
Grubsong + Unbreakable Strenght + Quick Focus + Deep Focus
With it you can out heal the damage got from the attacks, since every attack take 2hp. So if you get hit you can heal up.
