Slow down/pause when landing attacks
Is this intentional? My fps doesn't go down at all, but every time I land a hit it's like there is micropause/slow down, maybe to show the "impact" of the hit. Is this intentional and normal game behavior???

You mean a "parry" attack? And does this happen to every enemy? Or the ones with the nail only?

i think there is some slowdown when you parry but I don't think there should be any on a normal hit.
Time slows down for a short time when you receive damage if I remember correctly. Not sure if it also slows during parrying an attack (probably not).

No no it's any attack that lands, even the first enemy in the game. It's not a time slow down effect like when you get hit. A bit hard to describe but like a sluggishness (and the knight is even pushed back)... Like stutter or a "hitstop"... I'm guessing it's a design choice, but it feels bad.

Edit: Actually it only happens on the killing blow.

What's your Memory? it might be because when you attack, there are some hit effects that make your fps drop

But my fps isn't dropping, solid 144 fps. I have 32 gigs of memory and an RTX 3080 with an i7700k OCed to 5ghz... I don't think it's my pc. So none of you notice this when you kill an enemy?

Edit: I watched some videos on youtube and it seems to be intended design, you can see how the game "pauses" after he kills the enemy in this clip at 3:47:

Not me, that's not supposed to happen. Maybe trying checking the integrity of the game files.

I think you're just used to it, see the video I linked in my previous post at 3:47.

Oh, the video you sent just loaded, i don't see any parts where it paused when he kills an enemy

Ohhh that, now i see it, that's what's supposed to happen, i've probably killed so many enemies i don't even see it anymore, i'm surprised you noticed that, it's like the smallest detail.

Yes there is a micro-pause right when he kills the enemy. I think I'm just very sensitive to this issue.

Haha yeah, but it's a bit jarring because it interrupts the smoothness and flow of the game I find.
I noticed this micro-pause, but it really only happens occasionally, not all the time. Not sure why. But I think in the 0.74b Beta version from 2014 and the 1.0.0.6 release version from 2017 this was more pronounced, so might be slight optimization issues.

oh yeah man, dont worry, its intentional. If it's too jarring, you could do some digging to find a mod for it, probably?

It's intentional
