Did anyone actually have fun during the White palace platforming sections?
Genuine question. Because I don't understand how this is supposed to be fun in any way. It's just trial and error platforming. There aren't even any consequences, it's just an annoying level. At least fighting enemies is thrilling, jumping through saws and spikes, over and over and over and over and over, really is not fun. Maybe I'm just bad but, I'm actually curious as to if anyone enjoyed going through this. Not tolerated, I mean had actual FUN doing this. Because even though there's no death penalty, this level to me is equivalent to scraping my nails against chalk. Boring as hell and unpleasant.

yes, It was nice to have an optional masochore platforming channel in the game, I hope silksong does it the same and saves the hardcore platforming for a optional area

Fair enough. I just didn't personally find "frustrating just to be frustrating" to be the best design rule.
It was for me a very interesting change of pace, something different, so I might say I had some fun in it and I enjoyed it. Except of course some few annoying parts where I struggled, which is rather normal for me.

I had a lot of fun with it. It was completely different from the rest of the game, it focused platforming more instead of just combat/exploring. There's even a secret area in it that leads to the Path of pain which is quite literally x10 harder then White Palace in my opinion. I spent over 40 hours in it, i used to do it once a day because of how fun it is for me.

It went from "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I hate this place" to "Damn I've gotten really good at this" about half way through the place. I ended up liking it a lot. Path of Pain is another beast entirely...

The path of pain, yes it is optional, but it also not that challenging, it's tedium true to form tedium, no reward other then a cut-scene for lore, at best if your offering the players jump challenge take note dev's to make sure everything work as intend and bug or glitches when preforming these so called challenges.

thing's like slipping though the spikes your suppose to sword hop off of, or when you cling to wall at the last stretch you DON'T declip from the wall for half a frame that if you input a jump you eat your double jump and fall into spikes, this happened so much it was aggravating.

I really liked White Palace. It was really, really hard, but I enjoyed it. I didn't find it frustrating, but challenging instead.

On the other hand PoP, that's way above my capabilities. That's frustrating for me. But then again, I can understand some people like it and it's totally optional, not even an achievement, so it's only for the pure love of suffering, and it's nice to have the option if you are into it.

liked it a lot

Yup. Jumping puzzles like that often have little rng or other things outside your control, so success comes down to just player skill, or 'getting gud' as the internet says, and I enjoy mastering challenges like that; its one of the reasons I play games in general. I enjoyed doing the White Palace, the Path of Pain, and eventually all the Pantheons, as well as other difficult games like Fromsoft's titles.

I don't think the White Palace is comparable to fromsoft games.
I definitely liked it. Just because you have to do something multiple times in order to learn to do it right doesn't mean its a bad challenge. It was really fun for me, and I really liked the platforming. The only thing I would change about it is making it as hard as the path of pain cause that's even more fun.

White Palace/PoP are my favourite areas of the game.

Yeah, I kinda enjoyed it. Hated the aesthetic, but gameplay-wise, it was a nice change of pace.

I mean, when you play with k + m it's kinda hard...

Easier than with a controller I'd wager. I don't even want to think about pogoing that long with a crummy D-pad.
