[SOLVED] (HELP) Path of pain unreachable?

Originally, when I did the path of pain, or at least what I think the path of pain is, I reached a large horizontal parkour section going right. Then I went down and died to two guarding knights and all of my progress was lost. So, I decided to go another path and got the first half of the charm. Now, every time I go back, everything is locked away except the path up to the first half of the charm. I want to redo the path of pain, but there is no way tor reach anywhere. Is this purposeful, or am I missing something? Did I miss my only chance? Will I have to do this on another playthrough? Do I need to do something else first?

Based on your description, I'm thinking you probably didn't actually find Path of Pain, as you would definitely know if you got there. When you find the hidden entrance (hint for finding it) behind a breakable wall, which happens to be (direct spoiler for locating it) on the LEFT, not the right, it will say the words "Path of Pain" on the screen. Also, there's only one white fragment in the White Palace, not two.

You might want to save it for later though, as PoP is totally optional and doesn't have much of a reward to it. It's completely unrelated to progression of any aspect of the game and doesn't even have an achievement although it's one of the most difficult platforming challenges in the game. When you're doing late-game difficult content, it's a great place to go to improve your movement control though. Also, there are the bragging rights for completing it.

If you don't want to wait though, I'd say you should be able to go back to WP and look for the hidden entrance you may have missed. If you DID find PoP, then know that once you complete it and see what's at the end, that's it. You can't go back in on the same save file.

Yes, I was definitely in the path of pain earlier. I was talking about how I got to the very end, the top section, and then died to the two knights. I now found the hidden wall (my memory is ♥♥♥♥ apparantly); it's not very obvious if you already broke it and are going back. Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the help. I can't believe I was one room off and then quit... I can be an idiot. Now I know that the pure vessel got to spend some daddy time and I didn't, and that's kinda painful I guess.
Welp... off to complete pantheon of the hallownest for 112% completion...

Not a problem, sorry I misunderstood. And yeah those Kingsmoulds in PoP with the pincer attack are a bit of a surprise and it's not uncommon for people to die to them (especially if they aren't wearing any combat charms). I'm glad you got to see the bit of lore at the end then. It's brief, but it does put some things into a bit more perspective.

Btw, in case it matters to you to do all you can in one save (or at least would like to avoid missing an ending), make sure you finish the game (if you haven't already) before going too far with that charm you're working on. You can't do everything in one save but it might not be as impactful to see later added content before the original content. (Or it might be fine. Up to you.)

Actually, if you're at the point of being able to do that *successfully*, then you've already locked yourself out of an ending.

You don’t need to do pantheon of hallownest for 112%, just the first four pantheons. Doing pantheon of hallownest does get you the embrace the void achievement though. Path of pain also doesn’t contribute to percentage but does give you the seal of binding journal entry.
