Any 2nd Hornet fight charm tips?
everything is valid.

But when it comes to the charms, I say Quick Slash and Quick focus are the most helpful. Mark Of Pride and Longnail can also be handy. Not to mention sharp shadow if you fight her in godhome.

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend bothering to use any spells. Vengeful Spirit/Shade Soul and Howling Wraiths/Abyss Shriek leave you vulnerable, which is very bad in such a fast-paced fight, and Desolate Dive/Descending Dark just doesn't help very much in this fight.

Vengeful Spirit/Shade Soul can be used to safely hit Hornet when she shoots out her weapon and you're far enough away, but that moment is best spent healing if you've taken any damage.

Do the same what you did when fighting Hornet 1. But faster.

Jokes aside. Did you know that you can hit the spikes? People say this info was helpful for them in this fight.

Shaman stone is useful for clearing the spikes

Quick Slash and Mark of Pride are very useful here. Quick Slash lets you attack more quickly, which means you'll get more chances to heal (she gets stunned after a predefined number of hits) while Mark of Pride means you can stay just slightly further away from her, which gives a little more time to dodge her attacks after she starts them. Makes it easier to knock away those floating spike balls as well.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Sharp Shadow
Though I agree with most of this answer, I have one major issue with this recommendation. While Sharp Shadow certainly helps beat her in Godhome, it requires having the Shade Cloak. And getting the Shade Cloak kind of requires having beaten Hornet 2 before.

Good point. In that case I say Quick Focus and Quick Slash are still the most helpful (that's 6 notches). And with the remaining 5 notches you can do pretty much whatever you want.

Mark Of Pride and Longnail are indeed fine choices for this fight, but other charms can be helpful too.

Did I mention that nail arts are actually fairly handy for both Hornet fights? (Though you can't get nail arts before beating hornet protector.) You can charge up a nail art while Hornet is doing the area attack around herself midair or on the ground, then release a great slash when she's done.
Nailmaster's glory can help you get this done more easily.

You can try this trade build. Quick Slash, Long Nail, Stalwart Shell, Grubsong. If you're hit by her in this build, you don't stop hitting, you trade until you're out of invincibility frame and move away.

There is one key point you should be aware of:

She can NEVER attack you if you're on the opposite side of the arena. If she's in one corner and you're in the other one, she can never reach you with any immediate next attack. Her nail throw will never reach you. Her lunge and dash will never reach you.

You can use that moment to heal. One mask every time.

You should occupy one corner and make a safe space for yourself. Get rid of all the stars she sets around you, but don't bother going into the other corner. Stay there to heal and wait for you to come. When she does, trade with her and escape to the other corner and clear space and do the same.

Also never touch her when she's tired. Heal.

This is the most valuable advice for almost any boss fight in Hollow Knight. I really advise that. No panic heals during middle of the fights unless you are absolutely sure what you are doing!
