Is Quirrel dead even canon?
The theory of Quirrel's dead is very stupid imo. the only thing in favour in the game is some thing a dattaminer found in the game files (quirrel death nail) but many assets have the name of previous ideas and they dont changed it, example: in dark souls 3 Oceiros the consumed king is called ''dragon angel'' in the files.
I want o know if Team cherry said something or comfirmed this theory, the game dont do nothing to make you think quirrel died insted of leaving Hallownest, as he was mentioning so many times.
Team cherry comfirmed something?

I don't think there's any "word of god" on this matter, just fan speculation based on what we're presented with in the game (or files).

But, I mean, he left his nail behind. He deliberately disarmed himself in a hostile world. The world outside of Hallownest is not LESS dangerous either.

To persevere in this ruin, that old nail alone just won't be enough. Though that's no problem! One only has to look around.

Plenty have come before us and most have met their grisly end, many more equipped than you and I.
I'm sure they wouldn't mind were a fellow explorer to relieve them of their tools. It's a kindness really. The dead shouldn't be burdened with such things.

I don't have a horse in this race, I don't really care if he's alive or dead, and there is no "canon" answer until Team Cherry says or does something about it. I'm just saying there is a lot more textual evidence for his death than just game files. Would you care to present any counter-evidence for his survival?

1. Any other NPC death is very explicit, you see the dead body or the dead itself.
2. He mentions MANY times he want to leave hallownest

Zote ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ survived all the time, even deepnest with no weapon at all and 0 defensive skills, why Quirrel cant survive without a weapon?

Quirrel's own tie-in comic shows that the areas outside of Hallownest are not LESS dangerous. They're full of just as many mindless and hostile bugs that he needed his nail to defend against. Leaving Hallownest does not hint at survival in any way.

And Zote quite clearly does NOT survive if you do not rescue him.

you dont need to rescue him to the colloseum, so he did the kingdoms edge by himself, same with the city of tears, and the city sentinels are stronger that a random bug outside hallownest.
also Flee is always an option, Tuk wasnt able to flee because he is big and clumsy

That is an interesting question to ask on the next Team Cherry's Q&A.

I think because of the way he leave his nail, like a grave marker, the way he seems to sound older and older as things go on, the way he talks about how lucky he was to travel the world twice in his lifetime. i think it leans more heavily to him not surviving sadly. most likely monomons power was helping to keep him alive, and after being drained of it, the years caught up to him. but hollow knight doesnt like clear cut answers. like whether its better to let cloth die like she wants, or save her so she can keep looking for death. i believe when asked about quirrel team cherry has historically said "i dont know".

who knows how zote got to the colosseum.. it could be as simple as "those bugs you can find in the dirtmouth hotspring were looking for new slaves for the death pit and happened upon him while traveling, captured him, and brought him with them." since hes in a cage he clearly didnt want to be there, and they likely let him go because he wasnt any fun to watch fight because.. well.. hes zote. theres not really any information on how he got there. its zote so any method that requires zero combat on his part is infinitely more likely.

Personally.. i just let zote die.

I think something like that too. I think he had a mission, to be a guardian for Monomom's seal, and he is binded to her. He lost his memory somehow, but something made him return to the Archives (probably Monomon's call) when the Knight needed him. Once the seal is broken, he has no purpose. It's sad, but the whole Hollow Knight world is a sad and melancholic place.

Since he is (very likely) a pill bug/ rollie polly, I assume that after he stabs his nail into the ground, he just burrows away.

Yeah, he's living happily on a farm somewhere. You can't go and visit him though; the farm is too far away.
