That's kinda the point of dream bosses.

After doing him on Radiant he's okay. I see people joking about Lost Kin's balloon spam, they haven't seen FC's meteors.

Say Lost Kins name and I appear. Luckily you didn’t say anything bad about my favorite boss. I’m going to leave now.

Is he probably the hardest base game boss? Sure. But you absolutely don't need to kill him for progression as there's plenty of other, easier sources of essence.

It's entirely reasonable to skip him until you have the pure nail, at which point equipping fragile strength and quick slash makes quick work of him, especially if you hit the falling boulders into him during the post-damage ground slamming.

And if you learn the fight, those aren't even necessary, they just speed it up a lot.

He's certainly not poorly designed, it just takes time to acclimate to his blistering speed. Once you know how to dodge and can read his attacks quickly, he becomes one of the easiest bosses to bully.

Failed champion is one of my favourite bosses. He's a little less intuitive than others because until then you've gotten use to holding back and waiting for the boss to attack and then counter-attacking.
With Failed Champion you just have to get right up close to him and wack him and when he jumps, dash away or under depending on what he does. Tip: smack him repeatedly and then dash under when he's just jumping forward towards you to hit you, but if he jumps back go far away and jump over the shock waves, and get ready to dash again.

If you're like me and you fight him as soon as you possibly can in HK, then, yes, he's a f***ing bastard. But this is partly because I fought him with a weaker Knight who didn't have the bulk of his upgrades. I still kept trying over and over and, after an hour of retries or so, I finally got him.

Was quite rewarding but, in later playthroughs, I'd wait until later to fight him and he's a complete joke. So the only people who really have issue with him are folks like me who fought him early and then refused to quit. If you're smart and just save him for later, he's not a problem at all.

It's more about when he'd fake me out since he has different types of jumps. I'd get faked out all the time. The rocks falling down when he jumps sure as hell don't help either.
