Try to beat P5 with that build. It's easy, you could probably beat it in under 30-40 minutes? I took 40 minutes to beat the entire godseeker mode so I urge you to see if you can beat atleast P5 or godseeker with my build and see how long it takes and how easy it is.
The difficulty/ending seems to be my biggest grip. Everything else in the game is tough but it feels like with enough practise and patience it can all be overcome. Hell - despite struggling with Nightmare Grimm I was eventually able to beat him without taking a single hit, but then the final DLC came out and I feel all semblance of balanced design and challenge was gone. To unlock the new ending you need to beat a boss rush mode that has all the game bosses, plus some extra, and you need to go without all your upgrades. This was clearly not added because they thought it was fun, it feels like someone at Team Cherry thought "All the Souls fans are being irritating and saying the game is easy to feel big. Throw out something to shut them up."
Which is annoying because if it was simply a platform to allow you to refight bosses or just the reimaginged versions of some (like the Three Sisters) it would have been better. Locking a new ending behind it and requiring you to beat so much without any upgrades was too much.
Absolute Radiance itself is an RNG fest too. Even after practicing enough to clear the fight on Radiant I still ended up with unavoidable nonsense attack patterns ruining the P5 run and wasting 45 minutes of my life. Multiple times.
I think the reason so many were frustrated by Godmaster is because it felt like they were playing a different game to what they had played before. Imagine if instead of obtaining the Void Heart and the awoken Dream Nail to access the fight with The Radiance and get the game’s true ending, you had to go and beat 5 versions of the Path of Pain in the White Palace, and then you’d just be dumped outside the boss room next to a bench.
That’s essentially what Godmaster feels like. Something that’s not at all related to the rest of the game, and doesn’t feel anything like what I bought Hollow Knight for.
What? Are you mistaking the bindings as a necessity or something? Because there's nothing in Godhome other than the *optional* bindings that take away your upgrades. You can 100% beat Pantheon of Hallownest without ever beating a single pantheon with a single binding active.
