Why is my Nightmare King absent in the Hall of Gods?

I fought him in my save, so I don't really understand where is he? Do I really have to get to him in the PoH? I wanted to practice him before that.. I find it quite strange and would like to know if anyone else killed him in Dirtmouth only to find him locked in the Hall of Gods

Just in case, are you sure you fought *Nightmare King* Grimm, and not just normal Grimm?

Just in case, are you aware that you can switch between regular/dream version of bosses like Grimm by using the Dream Nail on the dream thing on the side of their statue?

I found the answer! My save files got corrupted a while ago (I only noticed then that all of my pantheon progress was deleted) and somehow troupe left but I had to defeat Nightmare Grimm again! Also 4 entries from Hunters Journal dissapeared and the Seal of Binding. Now I have 111 percent and Im really really stuck!! ♥♥♥♥ sucks

also! I have lost the ability to play in steelmode, I replayed Radience and received it. I gained it 2 or 3 years ago, so it's insane.. My save file is 110 hours, and 107 percent was saved and some random things were deleted

Do you mean that your save files got corrupted and that the corruption took away some progress, or that you loaded a backup and lost progress that way?
If the former, that sounds weird. For all of those specific things to have gone wrong without the entire save file becoming unreadable for the game would require really bad luck.
It seems to me that it's more likely that you had an issue with Steam Cloud erroneously replacing a current save with a previous one, which would have caused you to lose progress, but nothing more.

If that's the case, then not having the Seal of Binding entry would mean Path of Pain should be open on your save file.
But if you are unable to re-enter Path of Pain while not having the Seal of Binding entry, then your save file would actually be corrupted. if that's the case, could you confirm this? I might be able to help.

Correct me if I`m wrong, but I think Kingsmould journal entry unlocks when you beat them at the end of the Path of Pain? If so I have the Kingsmould but not the Seal of Binding. To answer your question, yes I can re-enter

I used to think that I just had an issue with Steam Cloud, but Steel Mode was the most suprising thing. I unlocked it a few years ago, and never really tried it, but yesterday when I was creating a new save slot the only 2 options were regular or godmaster, today I killed standard Radiance again and a message popped that I can now play in Steel Mode.
Pantheons, Path of Pain, NKG and Hunters Journal I completed around the same time so I can understand why they were lost

The Kingsmould journal entry is unlocked after defeating two of them or upon completion of the White Palace (only relevant if you managed to complete the White Palace without defeating the second Kingsmould).
Since you can re-enter the Path of Pain, it seems like this was in fact a Steam Cloud issue, and that you lost progress as a result.

Unlocks that aren't tied to a specific save file such as menu styles and Steel Soul mode are saved in the settings file, which isn't synced to the Cloud.
If you happen to have changed computers after unlocking Steel Soul, you would not have it on the new computer.
