Game not accepting inputs on macOS
I have been playing hollow knight on my Mac for a while now and I have never encountered this bug. My parents have a time limit on games and I was playing hollow knight when I ran out of time so I closed it like I normally do. The next day I launch the game and get to the title page but none of the buttons accept my input. I try to start game, nothing happens. I try to open options, nothing happens. I try to exit, nothing happens. It has been like that for 2 weeks now and I am wondering if anyone has encountered this and knows how to fix it or if I am the only person. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the game but that doesn’t fix it. I would really like any help with this if anyone knows how to fix it.

Are you using keyboard or controller? Does navigating the menu with the mouse also not work? What if you press alt+tab?

Have you tried restarting Steam/your computer?

What exactly are the symptoms? For example, do any of the labels like "options" appear to be selected at any point?

I have tried restarting the computer and steam none have worked. I use mouse and keyboard and yes the labels do seem to be selected when I move my mouse over them. When I try to select the button it doesn’t work.

-When the labels are selected, i assume that pressing enter, or pressing whatever your jump button is, or left-clicking the label doesn't work?

-Have you tried alt-tabbing multiple times until the game gets window focus again?

-Do you happen to have a controller plugged in/connected? If so, have you tried unplugging/disconnecting it?

-I don't think it's possible for the game to have the keyboard/mouse bindings in a state that would prevent you from navigating the menu with the mouse, but maybe it can?
If that's what's happening in your case, deleting Hollow Knight's configuration file might help. However, i have no idea what its location on Mac.
Here's the location of config files for other OSes, in case the location for Mac is similar :
On Windows, the configuration file is named "Config.ini" and is saved in the registry.
On Linux, It is named "prefs" and is located alongside the save files.
You can find the location of "Config.ini", Linux and Mac save files detailed near the bottom of the guide :
