I'm not sure how helpful specific charmset would be, cause for me most bosses were about learning their patterns and finding a proper way to react.
In general, the trick to beating him is maintaining the right distance to him to be able to react to his erratic behaviour (this is much easier with the Mark of Pride equipped) and predicting when his next attack will happen so you can move away a little to give yourself more time to react (again; Mark of Pride means you need to be less close to do your own attacks, so you have to move less far to be far away enough, giving more leeway). That means you'll mostly be attacking him right after he started or finished an attack, e.g. when he does his sword flailing attack, you can pogo him, when he's spitting minions you can attack him until he stops doing so, when he just fell to the floor, you can hit him until he gets up, etc. Whenever you hit him a few times in those situations, move away again in preparation for the next attack. Once you get into the right rhythm and get the distance down, you'll get hit a lot less often.
After that, be sure to use Quick Slash and possibly Steady Body to let you get attacks in quickly whenever it's safe. This isn't relevant for the first time you fight him, but after you beat him a few times, he'll start spawning exploding minions from a distance, sometimes creating situations where it's impossible to avoid contact. When he does that, remember that Desolate Dive/Descending Dark makes you invulnerable for a short while after using it. You can use that period to get to safety.
Other good charms: Sharp Shadow gives your shade cloak some extra distance, making it easier to dash through some attacks/get some breathing room and providing some chip damage. I'm a big fan of this one, but the extra distance can be tricky to get used to. Fragile/Unbreakable Heart can be very useful; in the fights where he does 3+ damage, you'll wanna count how many hits your health will let you take and adjust accordingly (in some fights, this makes Lifeblood Core better). Fury of the Fallen is only worthwhile if his current damage can put you at 1 mask without you having to heal. Sprintmaster can help with spacing on some attacks if you have one spare notch.
In general, I don't recommend healing at all unless he's stunned. The fight is fast-paced, making it hard to justify. Pogoing him is also risky because if he staggers he gets launched upwards; if you're pogoing his flail attack, use DDark after a few hits to gain invincibility if he gets staggered. Dodging his nail slam can be tricky because he can adjust his aim midair, but in general you want to either dash under him or double jump at a diagonal away from him. Try to stay out of the corners, they're a death sentence. Finally, be careful to only dash/shadow dash or double jump when you have to. You don't want to need those movement options and have them on cooldown.
Strategy: predict his attacks and dodge them, attack him when he's spawning small zotelings and be careful to the big zotelings exploding. I recommend using your soul shade to get rid of the big zotelings cause they are annoying since they can deal two masks of damage. Then when he's attacking you with his wooden nail repeatedly just pogo on him and use desolate dive at least once.
