1) This is the boss that you can touch. You don't take damage when jumping on her. Only attack do damage. So this gives you more room for maneuvering.
2) All attacks are telegraphed either by visual cue or sound. So Learn the pattern.
3) Be patient. Wait for the safe openings. Radiance gives plenty of them.
4) Always keep the cooldown of your shade cloak. You need it for the pillar of light attack.
5) Descending Dark also makes you immune. So with the right timing it's both damage and immunity. So make sure you have this spell upgraded (upgrade all of them if you haven't but Descending Dark is almost a must have. And it IS a must have for Godhome)
6) And yeah, Descending Dark makes the nails on the floor disappear for a short time.
Good luck!
it's just that i did not expect the normal radiance to deal 2 masks of damage.
Quick Slash, Mark of Pride are a staple.
Since you are new to the Radiance, Dash and Sprint master can be useful. If you have unbreakable heart or strenth, consider those.
And yeah, one more tip: try not to wait for the Radiance's attack standing under her. If she attacks with rays, the distance between them is short enough so that you might dash away from one ray only to land right into the other.
Good luck!
I also wouldn't bother with Unbreakable Heart. It gives two extra masks, which, since the Radiance does two masks of damage per attack, means it's basically just one extra hit you can take over the duration of the fight. Not worth the slots IMO.
Instead, consider taking Quick Focus; all of the Radiance's attacks are timed and leave lots of downtime, so there are many chances to heal. Taking Quick Focus means there are even more spots you can heal, and in many cases you can actually heal twice, which results in a much bigger amount of room for errors than Unbreakable Heart can ever offer. Heck, my first time ever beating the Radiance, I won because I brought both Quick Focus and Deep Focus for fast AND efficient healing, which just let me stay alive almost indefinitely even when I was taking damage.
On Quick Slash and Sprint Master: they are incredible for this fight. Like Sverr already said, dashing against certain attacks (radial beams, radial nails, raining nails) is likely to just make you hit the beam/nail next to it, so regular walking is almost always the best way to dodge attacks. Sprint Master helps a lot with that. Quick Slash means you can basically double the number of attacks you get in per jump in the first few phases, and lets you dish damage really quickly if she appears right above you in the platforming phase. More attacks also means more soul, which means more healing, which means you can live longer. Unbreakable Strength is also a decent damage boost, but doesn't give the same soul advantage.
Strategy-wise, try to move as little as possible. Don't ever dash or double-jump unless you are cornered (e.g. jumped at the wrong time and you're now in mid-air with a attack incoming). Try to get rid of attacks as early as possible so you don't have to dodge two at once. Walls of Light should be shadow-dashed through ASAP. Homing orbs should be guided to hit the floor or a platform so you don't have to dodge them again. Try to always be on the floor when an attack starts, and only jump to attack when it's safe. Try to chase the boss as little as possible; let her come to you. Finally, try to stay near the middle of the arena as much as possible. If you stray, you risk seeing attacks that start from the side of the arena too late, and have to face two attacks at once.
For the rest, I usually take my pick of steady body, sprint master, dash master, or grubsong depending on my mood.
Well, thats not the point of your thread,
my suggestions are: look for a good build, i also used the jony blessing or how it was called, the amulet that makes all your hearts blue and give you additional hearts, and another one that gives 2-3 ( sry i dont remember) blue hearts. And best advice : practice. Everything in the world achievable with practice. If you practice, radiance wont be that hard, good luck! let us know if you do it tho
